So the discussion about the corn complexes got me to thinking about how many ducks I harvest per season. I'm typically right around 100, this year 30. Buddies that live in the Moses Lake area both over 300 each.
-
I'm down this year as well, partially due to an extended big game hunting trip and then another long Christmas trip which reduced my hunting days. My duck count is about 50% and my days out is over 50% lower, so on a per trip basis it was similar to last year.
-
on a normal year or this year?
-
I believe about 25 ducks this year. Gone about 6 times. I’m not a master duck hunter. That is for sure

I’ll be around 160 ish. I get out most weekends if I think I have a good chance of shooting limits of mallards. It’s been a little tougher than last year but not awful. Birds definitely seem to react to pressure more than they did last year. I have not shot a single duck on private land this year.
-
I do pretty good on them! I passed the 100 mark in November.
-
Normal year, 50-100. Sometimes more. This year, I think I’m at 7. I honestly haven’t put the effort this year with how poor the numbers have been
-
Normal year 200+, however this is my 2nd year in a row not hunting at ALL. Last year I ruptured my achilles and had surgery Sept 5th, so there went that year, and this year we had to do a complete kitchen remodel because of a dishwasher flood. Sounds like this year has been kinda slow anyhow. Hope to get back on track next year since I'm out of duckeroni!

I only shot mallards and the occasional pintail, pass on everything else. just go to walk in areas to avoid crowds as best as possible, and don't hunt on the weekends and Hunt only public land. sitting at 60. 21 of those came last week. three trips, 3 limits, all in about an hour each day. When its good its good, pretty spotty when its not, do seem to always get a few shots though.
-
I don’t get out enough.
I’m not a very good shot.
So how many do I shoot or how many should I shoot???? :)
-
Normal for me is 60-100.
This year...like 30 haha

A WHOLE LOT FEWER than I did when my neighbors wanted ducks!
-
38 ducks and 3 geese this year. This was less than usual, but I only got one Merganser this year when I usually shoot a couple dozen.

So the corn complexes have affected the Merganzer migration?

:chuckle: I've actually heard rumors of plans to start stocking minnow ponds at Eagle Lakes for the guys who want to shoot 7 sawbills in 20 mins.
