Is it worth the hastle of taking the online test? Or is the paper test better? How detailed is the test? Obviously you cant shoot Dusky geese or swans. Are dusky the only goose you cant shoot in area 2? I cant seem to find anything else on the other goose species. I downloaded the Or state waterfowl book for ID purposes can somebody recommend any other Publications that might be helpful with me passing my Goose test and broaden my knowledge? I reckon I just want to know what to expect.
Thanks everyone

Take the online test. Watch the old videos they offer for reference material. Take good notes on what distinguishes the different species to include types of habitat and take the test. The photos used on the online test are just as bad as the videos. I can almost guarantee your find yourself asking, hell if i know. If you are not sure call it a dusky. I missed two questions, one of which I am sure wasn't covered in the material. One aspect that caught me off guard was the time it took me to complete the test. Longer than expected. Both my buddies who kinda watched the video but did not take notes fail miserably. Just my two cents.

4 of us took it last year and 2 failed 2 passed. I took some notes and passed it first try but it’s for sure harder than i was anticipating. Lots of the fine details on the questions and things you wouldn’t think you’d need to know. But I’d still recommend taking it online. Good luck

I prefer the paper test, the first time I took it , it was all that was available.
There are some good training materials on YouTube .

I took it online, everything you need to know is straight out of the state packet on their website.

There is also a manual you can print out. I watched the video twice and printed out the manual to use and passed it this year.
