Steyr makes some impressively accurate factory rifles. I have a Steyr .300 Win I haven't shot in 12 years.
The new Steyr Monobloc comes at firearm machining from a angle I have never considered or personally seen before. The action and the barrel are machined from a single piece of steel, seamless. Just insert bolt. As impressed as I am with the machining process, the chambering selection for 2019 has a suck factor of 10. 2020 does have the 7x64 and the 8x57 listed. Definitely to carry the European market if theres anything left of it by 2020 :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:. But two chambering I would shoot over a .308 Win, .270 or 30-06 any day.

Good if you don’t shoot out the barrel.
-
My first thought. 99% of rifle owners will never shoot out a barrel.
-
Especially in the calibers listed!
I like the idea, but am just a bit put off but the difficulty to change calibers or have a flexible platform. This is not an issue for most people as long as you like your choices and the gun shoots well. Being a Styer it most likely shoots well. Did not see a cost and not sure about the video they have posted... kind of the anthesis of the Gillette commercial making the rounds.
A 7x64 would be pretty nice though!

Not for the faint of heart. Convert 5300 Euros to USD.
