Idaho Statesman has article about cougars killing 2 dogs this month. IDFG thinks cougar population may be increasing. I cant seem to post the article here for some reason.

Yep.  It's not uncommon nowadays.  We deal with lots of problem cats

To be expected this time of year with elk so condensed at the low elevations.

Another by product of presence of wolfs? I noticed a lot more lions around town after all the deer and elk moved into and on the outskirts of town around cda. they treed and killed one downtown cda this summer across from my office! :chuckle:. I got to experience what you referenced on a prior thread last weekend about lions learning to evade the dogs. Had one jump the tree as soon as I got there and it did a big circle  right past the original tree. Ran right by me it was kind of funny acted more like a bobcat circling around its old track and stuff
