Not sure that necessarily applys to pistols but I do know glock barrels aren’t that expensive. I’d personally shoot whatever was around and not worry about it. :twocents:

My concerns would just be whether the ammo is reliable enough for what I want, and whether it's accurate. If it's not accurate, I won't waste my time with it. I suggest buying a 50 rd box of it first to try out before picking up a full case.

That certainly seems to be the case Lucky Gunner. I'm a pretty casual shooter who goes to the range once every 4 - 6 weeks. I clean and maintain my guns. After reading this I doubt it would cause any premature wear.
Just splurge for the brass, then sell me your spent casings. I reload 9mm like crazy. 1000 rounds for 60$. Currently have 7.5k loaded

Ill tell ya this about steel case. I have a buddy that bought a 1000rd case of tula for is AR's. We got through about 300rds fairly reliably. All the sudden one of the guns jammed up, no big deal normally. My buddy cant figure it out so I look at it. the extractor ripped the rim right off the case and jammed the spent case in the barrel. That gun was down for the day till I got a cleaning rod and a HAMMER to get the case out. to me its just not worth it to shoot steel in general.
I wouldn't attribute that to steel case. Similar things have happened with brass.
I've shot plenty of steel without issues, but of course results may vary.

Ill agree Brass could do that, however in my experiences brass hasn't as of yet (but I stick to federal .223 as a minimum). Steel case is notorious for being sticky in chambers that's why I wont even bother with it in most guns, AK's tend to do ok with it but AR's tend to be a hit or miss. Really brass isn't that much more expensive.

I run steel in my AKs exclusively. I'm sure it would be fine to run them through a pistol, but brass isn't much more. I just bought a case of Blazer 124gr FMJ in 9mm for $169. Probably better quality ammo and you can shoot it at ranges. That's worth the extra $.03 a round, to me anyway.
