My xpg are all light or mid weight, like the thickness of normal socks. They have been very durable for me. My darn tough ones are all heavier weight.

Same here, Will have to look into the DT socks. I did get started wearing Lorpens 2-3 years ago for hunting and no complaints, really glad I bought some. Starting to think I should be wearing them all the time not just hiking and hunting.

All mine just happen to be heavy weight over the calf ones. 2 sets came with my boots and the third was an impulse buy on a hunting trip. A hard rode sock is one of those things that should only last so long to allow regular replacing.

You can literally buy a pair and not need to pay to replace them forever. If you want to put miles on something, they are a bargain. If you only need to use them for a few miles once a year, there may be more cost effective options.
