My son did a Washington State big-game-over-the-counter slam a few years ago with a cougar, bull elk, black bear and buck deer in one season. All stalked or called, no guide nor dogs.
Sheep and goat add the draw factor of pure luck and change the equation too much to be more than a curiosity comparison.

All I need is the Eastern. I got my first Merriam in 2018 and a pile of rios over the years. If I am successful for the Eastern (which is doubtful) I will have done the slam in 3 seasons, 2019, 2018, and 2017.

They have a shiny pin for all in one season or a multiple season pin. Im guessing the multi season pin is for 3 consecutive season. I’m not “actively” pursuing, but if I get a 3-dayAll I need is the Eastern. I got my first Merriam in 2018 and a pile of rios over the years. I believe you are right, get all three in one season is the slam and then continue to get all three in the next year and next would be the multiple slam.

I got an e-mail from the wdfw the other day about. I read through it again and there is a single season (3 birds, one season) pin and a multiple season (1 sub species per year in 3 seasons???). Anyone going for the single season slam this year, other than MerriamMagician :tung: I've got two weeks this year for the spring hunt. I've decided to abandon my family and my worldly responsibilities and try to fulfill this turkey hunting dream. I'll be starting with an eastern.
I think that one is going to be your hardest one just because it’s so limited as far as public land goes. Good luck to you

Royal slam is eastern, rio, merrium, Osceola, and Gould(in AZ)

The Osceolated and the Gould are both Mexican/South American birds. They brought Goulds over to Arizona in the last 10 years I believe.What do all these other slams mean? Royal, world, us?

Yeah, eastern sure give everyone a run for their money. I'm gunning for that one first and if I can't bag one in the first week I'll just be trying for two Mirriam's in the NE.

My 12 yr old got his first bird this youth weekend.. I mentioned the state slam and boy his eyes lit up..so this dad will be doing his best to make his sons dream come true.. just may need some guidance I am a fairly inexperienced turkey hack of a hunter I guess.. lol call me lighting..fingers crossed the rio will be the next or the ghost...
If your in comas I’d go for the eastern, that bird is going to be the hardest one to find. Rios have to have certain things so they should be easier to find.
