How about a few prayers for the family of the Kittitas county deputy killed and Kittitas police officer shot and wounded last night. Officer is in Harborview. Suspect was shot and is being treated at a hospital.
-
If the suspect isn't already dead by now, hopefully somebody goes into the hospital and make sure it gets dead soon so we don't have to pay for that POS for the rest of his life.

My neighbor works for the hospital and got called in. Real sad deal. His sil is also a county sheriff. They knew the fallen officer very well. Sad sad deal. Waiting to see them release any info on the suspect. They seem to not want to at this point. Prayers sent to the family and other officers

Thanks. The young officer who was shot in the leg has a serious battle ahead.
-
News just confirmed suspect is dead. I live on the westside. Would anyone who lives near Kittitas keep this post updated so we can help the family of the Deputy that was killed. Cops being killed is very personal to me. Thank you.
-
Damn’t.
-
Ryan was a year ahead of me in high school. We didn't run in the same circles, but a Blue Devil is Blue Devil. :'(
-
Just turns my stomach to see this
-
Sucks
Just sucks
-
Yes it does. Those three kids lost their dad. So senseless.
-
Sickening. RIP.
-
I've always had the ultimate respect for officers and all first responders, even more so now a days. It takes a truly unselfish person to be a police officer in today's age. Prayers to the families. So sad.

Was the shooter an illegal?
-
There has been a donations funds accounts set up.
Any US. Bank branch
-in person
-send check by mail
Please specify:
Thompson Memorial Fund
Thompson Family Fund
Chavez Family Fund
I believe this option is better as they would get all the donation instead of using gofund me and them taking their cut.

Was the shooter an illegal?
Haven't heard yet, but I'm sure it wont be long before we know. Will be national news if he is.
-
I have the same urge to inquire, and if so, I expect there will be plenty of time to discuss. I hope that we can have separate threads for the thoughts, prayers, and support for the families, and the political implications.
-
Fyi....wife sent me this from her FB, it's our local community page
-
Praying for them!

There is no way we can repay this officer or his family for the sacrifice they have made. I'm glad to see he is being honored by so many. They deserve so much more.
-
I got a message last night from some Army Brothers that went to check on Chavez. He has a long road in front of him. keep him and his family in your prayers. Keep Deputy Thompson's family in your prayers too.

Right. He's really super sad. :bash:
"Governor Inslee is deeply saddened by the death of Kittitas County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Thompson, 42, and directs that Washington State and United States flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff in his memory on Thursday, March 28, 2019. Deputy Thompson was killed in the line of duty on March 19, 2019."
-
"I'm so saddened that my self-serving policies have led to the death of a law officer. People have no idea what damage this has caused to my political career and to my border jumping future voters."
-
I say since Inslee supports the illegals that the extra 4 million cost to protect him should go to the Sheriff's family.
-
Benefits at three local restaurants today, Blue Rock, Roadhouse and Ellensburg Brewing, perfect lunch stops
-
CW's barbershop donating half of everything they make today, tips included, to both families. They also have a collection jar for other donations. Memorial for Office Thompson at CWU's Nicholson Pavilion 2pm tomorrow.
-
Will the restaurant be having those offers on the weekend? I would drive there for brunch on Saturday
-
Wish I could be there but it's on TV right now if your interested in watching the memorial.
-
Had to watch it on tv, stuck at work. I think they did a very nice job. Glad to see so much support for that man and his family!
-
Talked to a friend of mine that was a teacher over in Ellensburg several years ago. He knew Ryan well and was very upset that this could happen to such a great guy. Praying that his family can somehow recover from their terrible loss.
-
Today was an incredible show of respect, pride and love! A WSP sergeant who has been to numerous law enforcement related death ceremonies / funerals said, this was the hardest one he has ever experienced due to the overwhelming community support by over 10k kittitas county residents who lined the streets of the procession! Over 300 law enforcement agencies and nearly 1000 vehicles showed up to make this a truly wonderful yet sad experience. The memorial at Nicholson Pavilion was 2hrs of joyful memories shared, words of sadness and comforting words from scripture. I have never experienced anything with this level of reverence and love. It was a day that saw the toughest of men and women cry from the words of remembrance and the pure outpouring of support and love for an officer, husband, father and friend! Stay safe out there men and women of law enforcement and We will miss you Officer Thompson!

Thank you for that update.
