Title: 3 1/2 ton floor jack
Post by: Skyvalhunter on March 26, 2019, 05:40:19 AM
Anyone know where a person can pick up a good 3 1/2 ton floor jack? I had one of those can't miss Costco floor jacks (NOT) that is relatively knew that now couldn't pick a half case of pop up now. Won't even make a good boat anchor. Thanks

Harbor Freight, but if you have a Costco one that quit working take it back to them.  They will return it and get a new one.

I've had a Craftsman one forever, but that's probably not the way to go now.

My harbor freight 1 ton would pick up my 3 ton Tahoe. I don’t recommend it but it was needed in a pinch. After I saw that it sold me on harbor freight jacks. Only select tools can be trusted from HF. Jacks are one of them

Another vote for harbor freight floor jack.  Just rotated the tires on my 1 ton ford, no issues.

I used my Harbor Freight one to jack up my motor home when I had it.  Like mentioned, go on-line and download the 20% off coupon.  You might end up with a few extra things as well.

You might be able to just put some oil in the jack and get it back to working normally. If so, it probably has a leak and won't last forever but for temp use...Probably goes without saying you wouldn't want to leave whatever jacked up long term if it's got a slow leak as it will eventually start to drop.

I would take it back to costco and get a new one. Mine seems bulletproof, the arcan 3 1/2 ton. I love it, nice little low profile unit. I know a lot of people that have them with no issues.

So my Arcan has hardly been used in the 4 yrs I have had it. Go to use it the other day and no go. Very discouraging to say the least. It's not like I am going to go into Costco with that heavy thing in tow to get another. Sounds like HF might get my business. Thanks for all the info guys

4 years, little use, dried out seals? I'd just throw it in a cart and wheel it up to the customer service counter.

Thats what i was thinking,
You drug it to the register, paid $$ for it and drug it to your car but you wont drag it back for a free replacement  :dunno:
BTW Harbor Freight does not show any 3.5 ton floor jacks so your out of luck there  :chuckle:

It was in a box then and there is just no throwing it into a cart.
