Title: Youth turkey hunt success.

Post by: Andrew on April 08, 2019, 03:56:36 PM: We had a tough time...put the birds to bed Friday night, however, Saturday came and we didn't hear a peep after they flew down. Scouted the area last Wednesday and saw 20 birds so I know they are there. Tough keeping three 10-year olds sitting still very long so we covered a lot of ground. Birds were not "talking" at all. Wonder if the snow storm that came through put a damper on breeding :dunno:

Post by: hunter399 on April 08, 2019, 04:08:39 PM: My son and i also had a tough time with any bird talk.we ended up covering some ground.He shot at one Sunday and just missed by inches.we walked around corner Hens on one side of road ,tom by himself on the other ,like maybe ten yards away.He shots full choke , and I think shot didn't have time to spread.

It was a tough weekend with not much gobbling after they were off the roost. Oh well, we'll try again next year, hopefully the weather is better!
