Title: Mystery Ranch Selway vs Mystery Range Beartooth
Post by: wkraemer on April 10, 2019, 09:36:50 AM
BlackOvis has the Selway on sale for 371.  The Selway is 60 liters or 3783 cubic inches.  Do you think the Selway would be big enough to elk hunt with for several days or should I go with the Beartooth?  the Beartooth is 80 liters plus the lid.

Yes absolutely. Last season my friend had 3 days worth of spike camp in his Selway easily. I liked his so much that I sold my Cabinet which I loved and bought a Selway as well a few months ago. I too paid $371 so that’s a good deal on an excellent pack.

I have the selway got it last year and love it.  Hauled an elk out last year with it and held the weight no problem.  Took me a minute to figure out how to unbuckle it and access the meat shelf but once I got it Love It.  And that's a good price.  Got mine off scheels for 371 as well.
Take care,
Joe

You can make a big pack smaller but you cant make a small pack bigger. Food for thought.

I typically would say the same thing as Karl but this is a significant saving in price and weight, ( assuming no sale on Beartooth). Depending on variables it could certainly be the best option. It will most definitely be a great elk pack regardless
