I see this and just shake my head

“Penalty could be $10 per pound of fish” :bash:

I always like the warden's grip and grin photos on these. It would be awesome if they could have the guy cuffed face down on the ground in the foreground of the pic.

Because god forbid some white hillbilly poach?
Seriously though, poachers come in all colors.

Having lived in Michigan for 28 years ... I'm not surprised. I'm white, and I'd say most of the poachers were white as well.

because its a common theme in this part of the country! the biggest fish poaching incidents I have seen in the news is russian!! couple that come to mind are the lenore lake and banks lake, plus all the other BS that went on with russians and the lake Roosevelt sturgeon fishery. My buddies have had several bad run ins with russians fishing around Colville.

It doesn't just stop around Colville either. I've had a couple run in's over here and can tell you they flat out don't care about fish poaching nor escalating confrontations.

He just needs to move here and fish the Columbia. Our management style is no size nor bag limits. He could fill the back of his truck until the springs bottom out!

I knew a guy in MT that would fish until he filled the cooler up. No possible way to eat that many fish, but some people just have that type of mentality. With certain cultures, I am 110% sure that even though they are poaching that at least every scrap will be eaten.
The part that is frustrating is that it is well known there are hot spots where this goes on. I'm sure most of us could pencil out at least a few spots and days where we would bet that even the most green warden would have a 90+% chance of writing tickets. Most of the spots are also known by the wardens but for some reason they don't crack down. There may be a good reason, but it is a bit frustrating when I'm checked on the water for barbed hooks when I can see a pier that has 20+ people keeping every crab that comes out of the water.
