Title: Rifle question?
Post by: 300winmag on May 08, 2019, 05:23:03 PM
I have a question about if a long gun has a title you have to transfer over if you sell or give it to another person. My dad has a hunting rifle that he wants to give me, I didn't know if there was process that you have to do to sign this gun over to myself so that it is in my name or if a long gun even has an owner title to it because I know that you have to sign a title over when giving or selling a pistol. Thanks.

Dad to son...I don't believe you need a FFL transfer.

Firearms don’t have a title, the only thing that may need to happen during transfer is a background check.
