-
I tried didn't get drawn..good luck.
-
how many points you got? i had 6
-
which unit?
-
Not sure i want to give up my honey hole just yet ;) two years ago we killed five bears in two week ends filling all of our tags four average bears one big one squareing six four. cant say exact weight i would guess three hundred and fourty lbs very big boar. Oh and all of these bears were blonde or brown :) hopefully the snow pack will let us in if that gives you an clue
-
i got a dayton tag
-
Can't wait to see the bears start dropping.
-
a big clue. :chuckle:
Gonna have to join Timber this year in the bear picture taking department I think. Can't seem to draw, 6 points here. I usually bump into a few by now, but not this year. They are tucked in still sleepin'.
-
Im not taking any thing less than six feet no need to :) :IBCOOL: Oh and i prefer my bears like i like my ladies Big And Blonde lol JK hahahahaha
-
Archery King, you do not need to give away your honey hole just to inform us which unit you will be hunting. Each unit has lots of honey holes. I have hunted spring bear in the Blue Creek, Wenaha and Dayton unit and took mature boars in each. Good luck on your hunt. Rufous.
-
Your right the WENAHA is a big unit and there are a lot of honey holes :) you take any big bears Rufos?
-
My bear that squared 6'6" was from unit 154 Blue Creek... Got to love them blues bears! Oh and he was a gorgeous dark chocolate!
Michael
-
Sounds like a nice bear, you got a picture micheal?
-
4 PTS STILL WAITING FOR NEXT YEAR.
-
Of the 9 bears I have tagged so far the bear I took out of the Wenaha unit in May of 2001 was the biggest. He was 13 years old and his skull green scored 20". I figure his live weight at about 375# based on his girth. Just his 4 legs without paws or hide weighed 120#. His hide measured 77" from nose to tail and 88" front claw to front claw. He was a big boy. Here are a couple pics:

My spring bear in the Blue Creek unit was a 12 year old boar. I got him May of 2005. I did not recover the hide or skull but he was a good sized and obviously mature boar. Here is a photo of that one:

Finally here is a photo of the bear I took May of 2007 in the Dayton unit with my 45 Colt revolver. He was 7 years old and had a 17 and 7/8" skull and his hide measured 6'6". He weighed about 275#.

He had an unbelievable amount of fat on him, and his skull officially went 18 7/8"... I thought it would've been a little bigger for how much he squared...

Great lookin' bears! Wish I had a spring tag!
-
good heavens those are some big bears. I know they're out there. Biggest bear track i have ever seen was in 154. Caught one good sized boar on my trail cam last year. Couldn't get a good look at him though. Got some smaller ones too. No luck last year though, and no luck getting drawn this spring either.

Another one of the rug... thats a standard Rem 700 30-06 leaning against the rug for size reference...

That rug sure cost a lot of money though well worth it!

There you go... break 'em in early. If she doesn't mind hanging out at your apt with lots of dead stuff on the walls now, it won't come as a surprise later...
Wish I had thought of that 15 years ago.. :bash:
-
She comes from a huge hunting family and doesn't mind 'em at all... she actually has gutted and hauled out deer for her brother/dad before. She enjoys it.... :o
Too bad the only thing we need to work on is the cookin skills! lol
