History And Stats of Hunting-Washington
A member sent a message asking about the history of Hunting-Washington. The forum was created by Ray on February 25th 2007, here's Rays first post on the forum and some updates regarding the early growth of the forum: https://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,2.0.html
I purchased the forum from Ray on February 24, 2011, this was his announcement to the forum:

We've updated servers many times to accommodate the increasing traffic load, we had numerous server crashes, unfortunately we lost a little data along the way, but the majority of info is still in tact today. Currently we are using an owned server with 4 drives and auto backup that I have hosted at a facility in Arizona that has a generator for electrical backup. This server and backup systems have proven to be far more reliable and long lasting than any previous server or systems we've used.
Advertising
Advertising dollars are used to pay for the server, hosting fees, and software technicians who make repairs to the forum and software when needed. H-W is an excellent venue for advertisers to reach thousands of outdoors folks with all types of items and services, new advertisers can sign up here: http://hunting-washington.com/sponsorinfo.htm
Donations
Donations were originally used to fund the server costs, but in recent years advertising dollars are paying all bills. Donations are primarily used now to fund contests and activities. Donations can be made here: http://hunting-washington.com/donations.htm
My goal is to keep the forum a family friendly place for experienced hunters, fishers, and trappers to share stories and photos with each other, and a place for new users to make connections with other users and learn. The success of this forum is due to the quality members and the dedicated moderators who have invested a great deal of their own time to keep this place interesting, educational, civil, friendly, and fun. I'm just surprised that this is the only real state specific forum that has any real following. It does provide a unique way to discuss hunting and 2A issues that just apply to Washingtonians.

This forum is one of those endeavors that came together and became something great. kudos to all the great people who've given countless hours to make it possible, and all the great members who make it a truely wonderful place to be. I've always loved the forum format and the way knowledge is exchanged and experiences are shared. I've grown from the community knowledge and love to see all the great stories and pictures. I haven't been here long but everyone is now stuck with me. Big thank you to everyone involved in bringing us the single best hunting site in the world, ever.

Yes, you can click anyone's name and see what member # they are. It's chronological.
If you click your name you'll to to your profile. The web address has your member number in the link.

Love this site. This is my only "social media" outlet. As far as I am concerned I can get everything thing I need right here from hunting information to TRT apparently.
Great site.
Thanks for continuing to improve it Dale.

I've been checking almost daily for 10 years. I've met several members that I'd call friends.

This is a great site to be a part of. I have met a few people in real life that are stellar.
