Was last year the 2nd or 3rd week of June or was it in the 4th week?
-
I was thinking it was 3rd..
Does not matter, I realized that I am sure to draw.
The way my life works, I have plans for this season that don't include getting drawn for the Observatory Archery, or modern permit.
I have not been hunting the unit for 9 years, and saving my time off for west-side ML...
-
It was June 21st last year. Hopefully will be at least a week sooner this year.
-
wasnt there issues with multiple states last year with the draws and why they were late? Im guessing we will be back to around the normal time they post this year.
-
I'm guessing the 19th but if it comes before that I wont be mad :chuckle:
-
Now it is June. Just a couple of weeks more.
-
After looking at the WA hunt draw odds on Go Hunt I am no longer excited about the Wa draw.
-

WDFW had another competing deadline last year that involved the licensing system that pushed the draw back a week.
-
I have so much confidence I'm drawing I went and bought my Idaho archery tag already. Haha
-
It says on the wdfw log in the results will be available no later than June 14
-
I am always confident I will draw. I drew all three OIL's in a span of 6 years and before the draw for moose, I was already thinking about my vacation schedule.

Unbelievable

I don't like you..........
:chuckle: kidding...
Maybe.
-
I expect to draw a second deer tag. They did away with the colville river hunt, so i figured id just burn my points this year and be done with it from now on. Ill have some door knocking to do after i fill my general tag. Confident i will not draw moose.
-
I expect to draw every category as I put in for. Ghost points that is. :chuckle:
-
I feel about like I do when I buy a $1 scratch ticket...so your saying there's a chance! :dunno:

It says "Your Special Hunts and Points will be visible no later than June 14th 2019"
It doesn't say results will be available!!
-
I dont remember them ever making them not visible in previous years, I wonder what the difference is this year, COME ON THE DEADLINE WAS OVER TWO WEEKS AGO, hit the button on the computer already! :bash:
-
Talked to Shaniqua this morning. There are issues with the draw.
WDFW will be releasing a mass email this morning; long short of it, most if not all of the permit data was lost (cloud issue) and we all will need to resubmit. New drawing deadline is June 28.
Best of luck to all of you.
-
Nice Try
-
The drawing should go much faster this year with the huge reduction in the number of tags. :violent1:
-
All points have been lost and everyone got reset to zero is what I heard. Such a shame

Are we going to have to pay for specials apps again? They would do that on purpose to gain more money! :chuckle:

. I called wdfw and they said that by the 14th when you can view your points and special hunts there Will be results of drawing.

That makes sense because if your points are visible they would be updated and you would know if you drew something.

I'm sticking to the 19th :chuckle:

At least you’re committed! :chuckle:

14th is the draw, when they post results who knows.

Where’s the link?

Draw is done. We will post Tuesday.

I meant they!

I don’t think that’s what they said. They said your points and special hunts would be viewable by then. Didn’t say results would be posted by then. I just took that as meaning the page on their website would be accessible again by then.
-
You have to read between the lines.
-
If they put the points/special hunt tab up without results, what was the point of taking it down?
I'll be very surprised if I dont see a long list of not-selected's by the end of the week. :chuckle:
-
Just think how much money employers will be losing with everyone checking for draw results every 5 minutes this week! :chuckle:
-
If they put the points/special hunt tab up without results, what was the point of taking it down?
Exactly
-
If they put the points/special hunt tab up without results, what was the point of taking it down?
Exactly
Ya I don’t know. But they take it down every year, and I’ve never picked up on any correspondence between the 2. You could put it back up there with exactly the same information that it displayed before they took it down.
-
I'm in no hurry this year to see not selected.

I don't remember them taking it down in the past. Doesn't mean they didn't. Just saying I don't remember that.
They definitely never put up a message saying it would be put back up by a certain date.
-
Wasn't the points page like a new "back door" last year during the whole email debacle of '18? People could see their points having been spent in categories before the actual results were posted?
-
I knew I drew quality elk in the morning but results were not up till that afternoon. Checked active licenses and hunt reporting and had quality tag listed

They probably took it down to free up the server and to take a breather. I think they have to use the same server for the draw and constant checking is a drain on resources. The faster the server, the sooner you will see results.
-
They could punch a couple of buttons within 24 hours of the permit buying deadline and have the results. Remember it is all electronic and the system knows immediately when you buy a permit and when you submit it. Delays only allow more time for shenanigans to occur in the draw process.

When I drew my goat tag in 2017, there was only a minute or 2 between the 2 happening. The active license did happen first for sure, but it was only a few minutes later when it “officially” said I drew.

3-4 weeks to get results. Please show what other western states have results out in less time.

Last year it was several hours. Several long anguished hours. Waiting for my moose permit to be official.

Utah and Colorado take much longer than wa for example

I’ll gladly wait a bit for odds that don’t round to zero.

It should be done earlier in the year. Alaska for example. Apply in December, results in February
-
It’s sure nice having time to plan

:yeah: WY elk is January. ID is ridiculous with their deadline and results some of the controlled hunts start in August thanks a lot for the time to plan. I have to submit vacation before the idaho deadline for August hunts in case I draw.

Sadly, WY will be the worst starting next year. A Jan deadline to submit and results won't be out until late June. Worst of both worlds.
-
WA is one of the quickest in posting results. Even Montana takes 6+ weeks.

The Wyoming elk deadline will be May 31 next year.

No, don't think so.

"They've posted the proposed draw changes on their "get involved" link. What they have done is leave the Elk app period as it was; Jan 1 - Jan 31, moved the change date to May 8, and moved the results date to coincide with the Deer/Antelope draw.
So, if you wanted an early app date, it's still there, you just won't be getting results until June.
I was told WYOGA convinced them to just move the results date. Seems like a good way to make sure your clients don't apply to other states."

Oh okay, thanks for that. I hadn't seen any discussion of the specifics. I thought they were doing away with the January 31 deadline and I just assumed it was going to be the same as the deer and antelope deadline.
I'm glad they kept the earlier date. But it will sure make it hard to plan a possible Wyoming elk hunt around other hunts a guy might draw in other states. Helps to keep draw odds from getting much worse though. So there is that.

Not to thread jack but I am confused why they would keep earlier application period but move results back. The whole reason I liked the early dates was because the results would be out before other app dates and thus you could adjust plans based on what you drew... :dunno:

They don’t set tag numbers until after. Later results makes it easier to set tag numbers after winter bio counts.
I think I recall reading that anyways

It's always been that way. Non residents apply for tags in January, not even knowing if those tags they applied for will actually exist. That was the issue. Now they're going to allow applicants to modify or withdraw their application up until May 8th. The only reason for keeping the January 31 deadline is because that's what the outfitters wanted.

Washington draw must be started and on-going. I checked my status and the hunting reporting icon is gone this morning. It was there yesterday. Some used to look at that to check the "back door". So something is ongoing.
-
Something is happening, dvolmer!!!!!!! :yike: :yike: :yike: :yike: :yike:
-
Check your "active license" tab. See what you hold. I show all the stuff that I bought back in April and now it shows a 2019 quality deer tag (effective date of 6/15/2019). Hope that's right!
-
Showing second deer and QUALITY ELK for me!!!

Probably so!!!!! Or maybe better said "nightmare"
If it is true, its a Modern rifle Dayton or Observatory quality elk tag for me!
-
Whenever the draw is posted, all hell is going to break out. My guess is late afternoon. Which day, I don't know. Server probably will crash or become so slow, grass grows faster.

Showing an antlerless elk tag for me!!!!
