I picked up a Tikka Varminter 223 not too long ago and slapped some crappy Redfield scope on it. I did a little shooting with it, maybe 15-20 rounds then back to the gunsafe it went. I just put a Leupold 3.5-10x50 on it and took it out the other day. This thing is a friggin tack driver!! I cannot wait to get out coyote hunting with this thing. A buddy has one in 308 and it drives nails too. When my kid gets old enough to shoot, after hes done with the .22's, Im going to get him one in a .243. Who else shoots a Tikka? What caliber?

I have a T3 .300 WSM. Just got it this year, drilled a bear in the heart at 78 yards and bagged a spike on Wednesday at 90-95 yards. I have enjoyed it so far, I have a 3.5-10X40 Leopold Boone and Crockett edition on it....it is a kicker a bit, but ya never notice it when you aim it at game, naturally.

I bought a T3 in .243 for my daughter, Its a tack driver too. Best value for the money, but they rape you for the extra mags.

:) gotta love em! 223 tactical, 22-250 varmit, 22-250 stainless, 243, 308, 270, 300 win mag. had a 223 stainless light,
all wear Leupolds, VX3 3.5 X10's and 4.5 X 14's.
All of em shoot like crazy. nice triggers, slick action, light and very economical compared to rifles like Rem, Win, Browning Etc. AND a FAR better rifle.

I have a Sako, 300 Win Mag, Tikka more expensive brother. Both have awesome triggers. I have a few guns and by far this is my goto gun. All have Leupold 3x9x40 VXIIIs.

I have the Tikka lite in .270 WSM. I have not used it hunting yet but at the range this gun can put out some serious groups. I have been using 140 grain Accubond bullets.

I just put on 2 piece Leupold bases with medium base rings. My scope is a 50 mm and it fits just perfect. I'll post pics of it later. The rings and bases cost me about 55 bucks.

Sniper, were you having problem with the tikka rings?

No problems with the Tikka rings, they just werent tall enough to fit the 50 mill objective.

Just wondering which version of the Tikka you all have? Synthetic/Blue, Synthetic/Stainless, Walnut/Blue?

I had a T3 stainless Laminate in a .243 it sure was a beautiful and smooth gun. I sold it because I just didnt use it and needed a new shotgun.

I have a 300wsm stainless T3 and have shot nothing but handloads thru it since I bought it. The amazing thing is most of the loads I put thru it group 1" or less. I'm very impressed with the quality of the bore on that rifle. As a comparison, I also handload for a Browning stainless stalker in 7mm-08. It's a finicky SOB. Most loads I have tested with it are 1 1/2" or larger. Only about 20% of the loads I've tried will group 1" or less. I'm happy with the Tikka, but when I have an extra $1500 burning a hole in my pocket, I'll be upgrading to a Sako. Not because I need one, only because I want one. It just feels good carrying a quality rifle around in the woods, if you know what I mean.

I was trying to buy my buddies Sako .223 from him before I bought the Tikka. He has a Vixen, worth $1200-1300 bucks. I almost had him convinced to sell it. After I bought my Tikka and told him what I paid, he acted like he would of sold me his for the same price!! Oh well, I'll get it off him someday hopefully. His dad is really into .22 match shooting. Im a fan of Ruger #1's too. He has a custom built #1 in a .22 rimfire! I would really like to get my hands on it someday. We'll see.
