Drew the Idaho unit 2 moose tag! I’ve been told anything over 40 inches will be a good bull taken in that unit. Any advice would be great! Season is Sept 15-Dec 1st.
-
Congrats look forward to hearing your success story.
-
Heck of first post! Best of luck post up pictures and story this fall!

Welcome to the site. Tell us a little about yourself we don't just throw out hard earned, expertise info like its nothing.

That’s a great tag. There are some great bulls in that area. I think that you have the opportunity to shoot moose over 40 in there...I don’t have pics of anything above that size but I have seen them.

I know where there are some real nice one's if you are interested pm me

congrats! the moose numbers in 2 are good. I would definitely hold out for 40 inch or better. Especially since you have the 3 month tag
-
Look at a lot of moose photos......even little moose look big when they are coming in like a tank.
-
Wow! That sure is a nice warm welcome. Thank you. I live in the Twin Lakes area so I'm super pumped to draw in this unit. I'll be sure to share pictures during the hunt and keep everybody up to speed. Look forward to being apart of this forum as it looks like there are some great people on here! Thanks a ton :)

Machias-LOL. I get it! I've been putting in for my elk unit for 10 years with no luck. Decided to switch it up and try for moose. First year :)
-
Congratulations! Deafinitly know what you are going to be happy with before you hit the woods. Look over lots of pictures and Videos. Here’s a pic of my Washington bull from last year to get you started. 38 inches wide Fish and Game said he was 7 years old, so not the oldest bull in the woods but a mature animal.
-
Good for you, sounds like you drew a great tag! Definitely keep us updated!

Congrats on the draw!

Oh sure rub it in!! :) I hope you have a great hunt! When you get the big boy down, if you need any help getting him out, plenty of folks here that like to help a guy out. I'd be happy to help if I'm able to.

One week before the hunt. Got out today and saw a ton of deer. Moose were not moving today at all. Look forward to sharing many pictures of the hunt!!
-
Get ready for lots of sleepless nights. It’s all I could think or talk about. I think my wife was glad when we left so she didn’t have to hear me talking strategy or practicing my moose calls
-
Thanks! Really looking forward to it as you can imagine. I was a little surprised not to see any rubs or tracks yesterday while out. Anyway-Hopefully I'll be sending pictures of a good one on the ground here soon!!

Had a great time on Sunday-opening day! We saw 7 moose during the day including one bull that was between 30-32". The thing looked like a school bus standing in the clear cut about 75 yards off the road. Sure would of made for a nice pack out :chuckle: Not quite the bull I was after.
Back at it again this week!
-
Shout out to @beauhunter....Took me out yesterday to show me around and learn some new area. Had a great time! Nice to know there are still some great guys/hunters out there.
-
Couldn't of been more excited about how my hunt went down last Sunday...Hit the mountains again with Cory (Beauhunter), my dad and a buddy. Ended up hunting all day and not seeing much. Right before dark ended up seeing a decent bull. Long story short, ended up shooting this 36" bull. Not the biggest bull in the woods but a decent bull and meat in the freezer. Boy did I underestimate the size of these guys! WOW-my back is still on fire!
Huge shout out to Cory on this site! Never met him before and we met on multiple occasions to get out in the woods. Tremendous help! Thanks Cory.

Congrats! Sounds like you had fun.
