Yeah seeing how I am building a house right now and it is completely consuming every second of my day I’m sure I will pull a OIL! :yike:
-
no you have too many points
-
Hopefully I get a ram tag this year :)
-
I decided I’m not going to draw any permits this fall. Got too much going on with my kid and her extra curricular activities.
Translate this to...
Your fall is totally screwed as usual...you’re sure to draw something!!
-
Hopefully I get a ram tag this year :)
You used up all your draw karma last year I believe.
-
Got my OIL tag in the mail tonight.

Who else got lucky?

So this is what it feels like not being in the losers lounge!! I feel so blessed today! My buddy and I have been putting in for years as partners for bull moose, with 21 points we finally drew this year! Selkirk tag as our 2nd choice, of course kettle falls was our 1st choice. Not disappointed in the slightest! Can’t wait for the research to begin, the planning and the hunt. Amazing!

Woohoo!

Congratulations on the tag! I keep hoping and praying, but 24 points didn't get it done again this year. I guess I can't complain, pulled an Entiat archery tag. Let's hope for early, high mountain snow!
-
Congrats trophyhunt!
-
:IBCOOL: thanks!
-
Not totally OIL, but Cleman C ewe. Also modern Palouse Buck permit as a consolation prize...even though I think it's one of the sleeper permits to get.

I know where a tank lives but you'll have to work for him..I've been holding out hoping for the tag but he's probably going to die soon anyway. If you're interested.

you lucky *censored*s! So jealous. Congrats Ben!

I drew a WY cow bison tag, but I don't think it is OIL. Either way, once I got serious about penciling out the cost for potentially 2-3 week long trips, gas, tag, etc, it's a one and done for me.

If anyone who drew Huckleberry unit needs an assist getting an animal out, let me know. I have 2 strong boys that love to pack out animals and I live somewhat close by. Also, if you need a hand in locating any moose, I may or may not have an area or two. :chuckle:

Yeah, 33% of my thoughts are on how to get one down and 66% figuring out what to do after pulling the trigger.

I would just wing it, save the gas and miles on your truck. Show up the day before the opener and do your scouting then :chuckle:

I drew a 49 degrees north late bull moose tag. I am really excited i have had a moose hunt on my bucket list since i was young. Good Luck to all of you that were lucky enough to draw an OIL tag.
-
I drew the Mt. Margaret Backcountry goat tag. Thanks to X-Force and Bucksnort (father of last year's tagholder) for the help they've already offered!
My wife just had baby #3 for us last week (3 kids under 3 and under at home right now), so not the best year to draw....but when it comes to goats, there's never a bad year, right?? I'm so pumped I haven't been sleeping much, so I guess it doesn't matter that there's a newborn baby keeping us awake all night.
I'll post some pics and a write-up of the hunt afterward. I'll be scouting a lot this summer in the unit, but if any of you Norway Pass elk dudes spots a monster billy up there, feel free to pass the word along. Yeehaw!

Congrats to you lucky tag holders

Wondering if any of the other OIL permit drawing recipients have received the info in the mail that is supposed to have been mailed in June???
Nothing so far for me.
-
I seem to remember impatiently waiting for mine and eventually just called WDFW. Paid for my permit over the phone and then they sent the packet. Mine was a goat tag so I got all the goat ID stuff and all that. Details are foggy as it's been 2 years.
-

I was wondering the same thing. I just called them a couple days ago and paid for my moose license/tag over the phone. He said they would send a packet.
-
I called in to wdfw and purchased tag over phone. .4 days later had tag and permit show up in the mail
-
have to call in for the oil tags. can only buy over the phone. they will send you the tag/info sheet after you pay.

:yeah: exactly what I had to do. Called and paid for the tags and a week later had the packet in the mail with tags and all the info.
-
So after receiving an email that said they would send something to me in the mail about purchasing my moose tag, I waited and waited. Nothing in the mail, so far. >:( So I called the local region 1 office this morning and they told me i had to call Olympia to purchase the tag, just as previous posters have mentioned.
So I called and got it purchased this morning.
-
This is a very nice envelope thanks wdfw

Very nice did you draw the Manson unit?

Technically that’s not a OIL tag, which might have people confused. ;)

Technicalities...
And it might be a once in a lifetime tag for him if we want to go down the technicalities road.
Said with a chuckle and smile and in good fun.

Literally got 5 texts about an illegal ram posted on hunt wa.

Fixed it for everybody, the bull and buck will not be posted now either. Its A south central raffle, opens September 1st. Ram has been checked by Bernie and plugged.

See what happens when people stick there nose where it doesn’t belong.🤬
Now we don’t get to enjoy this persons success, pics and story. Good job internet wardens.😡
When people post pics, and stuff just enjoy it and be glad for them.
If it’s illegal the authorities will figure it out.😉
-
If folks don’t know all the facts, it would be good to not comment rather than jump to conclusions.

Butt hurt over what? People had questions. If he said raffle no one would have said anything.
FYI if people don’t tell wardens about something that looks out of place then lots of crimes would go unnoticed.
Congratulations to the hunter. Awesome animal. It looks like he is in for an epic fall.

Clean out your inbox . I've been trying to PM you for awhile now .

No reason to be mad that people were questioning it. I opened my pamphlet and checked the season dates too. I wondered at the time if it might have been a tribal tag. Didn't think about the raffle tags. When people post weird stuff like that it wouldn't hurt to just say it was a raffle tag.
-
Good luck to all those lucky tag holders that start this weekend!

Come on guys! Leave poor Limb alone! He went to West Valley so he's not so good with words and numbers and stuff :chuckle:
Seriously though Mike, unbunch your panties, you can't post "clemans ram" before the first clemans season opens and not expect some raised eye brows. I already tried to turn you in for points but they said no :'(

Why do people remove their pictures when people question if it’s legal or not?! It’s the internet it’s standard operating procedure for certain people to be the virtual authority! Grow a spine and laugh when the trolls come out play!🙄

Maybe share in the packing out of the meat too

I cant speak for why Limbhangerslayer pulled the pics . But IMHO it gets old listening to the trolls would be my guess. Why would anyone post a picture of a poached animal ?. It's like the Gov.Elk tag posted in the Elk section. 400" was stated as the score and soon enough there was the " That's not 400" , I only see 355 " . It is sad because the hunter of the ram has killed some dang nice animals , and has some great hunts / tags in his pocket . That I'm sure alot of people would have liked to see

This ewe was actually shot last year, but I forgot to post.
2018 Bighorn sheep (ewe) hunt, mount Clemens, WA. Definitely the toughest hunt I have ever done. I was lucky enough to draw one of the 25 tags in the state. Spent 3 hours climbing the mountain, 280 yard shot from a rock cliff, overlooking the canyon, steep, rocky, and a little scary( gave me shaky legs). Once I had the sheep down, it took me four hours to get to it due to the rough terrain. Shot it at 10:00 am, made it to the animal at 2:00 pm, took an hour to drag it down the rock slide, another hour to skin, cape and hang it in a tree. Headed down the canyon at 4pm, finally made it to the hi way 410, right at dark, no flashlight, so I was sweating it whether I would have to spend the night on the mountain, alone. Steve found me on the road and picked me up, I was exhausted, out of water, and was to busy to eat any of my lunch during the day. Strange country, nothing but game trails, no roads, half of the time I had to fight my way through the brush. Thank God I made it out alive and not injured. Steve and I hiked back up the bottom of the canyon (Mystere), the next day, one and a half miles, to retrieve the meat. It was sure nice having him along to help get the job done. It's always good to abuse your friends, right? He'll probably think twice about going along with me again. So thankful for a successful hunt, a good friend to help, and my health. Not sure if I will ever do this again. The morning we headed up to pack out the meat, there was a ram and a ewe, right above where we parked the truck, would have been way too easy?
-
Very nice
