A brother from another mother got lucky on a quality archery tag.
I think he will holdout for a rag horn.

100% agree

Antlers will be small this year. Ive noticed a correlation on bad mosquito years, that the antlers never have a chance to grow. Stunted from lack of bloodflow. If you think ticks are a problem...
-
Search function works pretty well on this site with probably with more info than you care to read.🤣

It's down in Oregon just across the Columbia. Part of our reciprocal permit system. You have to buy an Oregon license to hunt the permit area.

Worst mosquitoes I have ever been in was a summer scouting trip in peaches.

Ask Herb.
Saw his truck parked at C-Post yesterday on my way to the ranger station to pick up a firewood permit.

I don't think your BBQ can count points ............ :dunno:
-
Saylean BBQ doesn’t share meats either... are you sure 2pts is what your hunting for? I thought it was how many points you burned :chuckle:

No doubt. That is one of the reasons I hunted west side the last 2 years and plan on hunting west side for the foreseeable future.
Luckily Saylean got drawn and I can tag along on this hunt.

I drew multi season tag this year so I'll be hopefully hunting Westside come muzzy season. Hunting partner drew an eastside tag so I'll be calling for him during archery season.

Nice.
Saylean and I were in the permit area today for a quick scouting trip.
He wouldn’t hang a game cam... just kept packing them around.
We did put on 7 miles and saw goats, deer and elk. Not bad for a quick trip.
-
Talking with saylean this afternoon he has been on 4 bulls including having a 6pt at 15 yards. No shot but he is in them.
-
Kitty corner from Apple Ridge....
Now that’s funny! :chuckle:
-
Looking forward to success..man if he gets in bind finding a bull holler...I didn't tie them up but I know where some studs are.
-
Saylean is having a pretty awesome experience in peaches. No bull on the ground but they are vocal and lots of close encounters.
-
Hope he gets a nice bull!
-
I know, I know
-
He better hurry up.
-
I missed a really nice 6pt that xforce called on for me. I also drew back about a half second too soon on an absolute monster 8pt my son called in, he bolted when I skirted the tree I was behind. Sigh....
I won’t mention the bull that xforce bugled out....🤫😘😢😂
I prayed for just one shot opportunity and was blessed with two. Passed a few spikes too (even though it would have been fun to get people riled up with that on a bull tag).
Lots of fun, lots of rain, saw a bear, had a wolf on my 6 and bugled bulls morning and night daily. Good times.
-
Sounds like a good time! What unit was the wolf in?
-
Unit 346
-
Sounds like my hunt last year... that's a fun hunt even without a harvest..
And those spikes..I think I had 4-5 come in while I was working good bulls.. curious sucker's.
-
Awesome, sounds like a great time.
-
Gotta love great hunts like that! Especially with friends and family
-
A wolf.. no way. There are no wolves in Washington. Lol
Sorry the opportunities didn't work out

The bull I blew out was all my fault... well both times. The first was a bull sounding off every 10-15 minutes so we snuck within 20 yards of his cows and 60 yards from him.
He bugled I backed out to probably 60 yards from his cows leaving saylean close by... he bugled again and I responded. He didn’t like that and bolted.
Second was another bull bugling all day... we tried to put a sneak on him and I miss guessed his position by about 60-80 yards and he caught our movement.
Awesome time in the woods with my brother an nephew.
Wish I could have stayed longer.

Good times, no harm no foul!
