Title: Desert Rifle rut tag dream
Post by: duckmen1 on June 13, 2019, 01:36:33 AM
It's story time. After years of hunting and having great memories in the field the family tradition of having memorable general season hunts, but always sitting back in the preseason putting in for those dream hunts you'll never draw and talking about the dreams of one day maybe that lucky day will come has become a reality for my brother. In the past we have drawn some cow and doe tags between the family but no one has ever drawn a quality deer or elk tag. In the past my brother and I had drawn a couple of doe tags for the desert unit and had a good hunt filling both tags while hunting single digit temps. Although we only spent 4 days on that hunt the memory of some of our first tags filled has always had our hearts wanting us to return one day with that dream of going back with a buck tag in hand. After all these years that tag has come my brothers way. The Desert Rifle rut tag. There is alot of excitement for his hunt, but I'm crushed knowing  I'll most likely be sitting on the sideline for this hunt due too injuries with potential of multiple surgeries leading into the season. Although I'm down I'm not out. I'll be trying to help in ways of giving him pointers on access points and info I learn in research on the unit to add to our past history in the unit. And can't wait to see this season play out on this experience.

How did you injure yourself?

How did you injure yourself?
It's a long story . Working in the lumber industry I got  shoulder injuries that required one surgery already and about to be going for round 2 soon. And added to that by rupturing the side of my ankle with the perennial tendons and have no stability in walking. Its been a long ongoing painful frustrating battle and want more than anything to get healed up and get back to what I love to do.

Congrats! Let me know if your brother needs any help.

Will do. Thank you. I'll be in touch. We are super excited for this opportunity.
