Hey guys,
I just recently moved to washington from michigan. I live on the sw side and realized that one of my favorite things from home isnt really close by. Ive been looking at some aerial and topo maps around units 290 and 278 with those being some of the closest units to me that I can pursue whitetail but looking at maps almost gives me more questions. Being so far away Im only going to get a few scouting days and probably less hunting days. Anyone have any quick tips on what kind or terrain is best for whitetails? Also, the ruts really popping off between Nov. 2nd and Nov. 12th back home, is it the same out here? Like I was saying this is wayyy different than where I hunted whitetail back east. Any help is appreciated!!!
Thanks guys, Keegan

Most are in the far east but showing more elsewhere, rut seems to peak 10 days or so later, here is a pic

FYI... unit 290 does not have a general deer hunting season.

You could always use your whitetail tactics on the blacktail near you. Less drive time and a new challenge
