Title: Slug Shotgun Recommendations
Post by: Tree Farmer on July 06, 2019, 08:27:07 AM: I live in a firearms restriction unit and will be buying a new shotgun to shoot slugs. I know I will get a 20ga, rifled barrel, synthetic and I will mount a scope on it. I am leaning towards semi automatic for reduced recoil as my daughters will also shoot it. Of course money is tight and I am on a budget. Do any of you have any recommendations or experience you can share?

If you find a used one in good shape, scoop it up. :twocents:

Post by: usmc74 on July 07, 2019, 02:13:46 PM: Slugs kick hard. Just saying, but mine were 12 ga. Sighting in a scope, and shooting 20+ rounds for groups. It was a brutal afternoon.

Rem 580 w/ a Hastings rifled barrel and Nikon Slugmaster
Hitting the gongs at 225
Not a cheap barrel or ammo but well worth it.
