A friend of a friend picked up this incredible shed in central Washington. We put a tape on it last night and it scored 109 3/8". He hasn't been able to find the other side, but multiply this side by two and add a 28" inside spread credit (we estimated a 38" outside spread) and this buck would go roughly 246 6/8". Even more incredible is that only 8 4/8" of the 109" are from extras - the frame is just awesome. You've got to see this shed in person to appreciate the mass - congrats to the lucky sucker that picked it up.
-
nice find thats a good shed too bad the critters got to it already
-
Nice find. Looks like the rodents got to it from the last picture?
-
HOLY HORN BATMAN!!! :o
-
:yike: It almost looks like last years and was in the timber or something. DEF lighter on the front half. Damn rodents. Hope they broke a tooth. Nice bone!
-
By the way, I have the state record and 2nd in the world typical and its 96 and change. It looks like you have a contender. Course you have to have a panel of judges (three different measurers) gander at it.
-
Damn! That just upped the anty for the gov. tag! Love to see that buck on the hoof. Great find!

good luck finding the other side! if not thats still an awesome find

Pretty sure that bone is a year old. Its amazing that deer has survived not being seen by anyone in this state.
-
I agree, with the color and the mouse carvings on it.
-
that's a sweet find,so aaa where exactly did you find it :chuckle:
-
I knew someone would find the other half to my biggest shed ever. Just to be sure its him you better email the location of the find so it can be confirmed. No sense in us both spinning our wheels any longer. :chuckle:

:yeah:
-
Oh man... what can anyone say about that!!! So... his horn is still at over 100" without the trash!!!!!!!!
If the other side was fairly symmetrical... say...had the same frame... and had 8-10 inches of trash...and he was 28 wide on the inside.. this deer could actually score 228+ :o :o :o
WTF? Washington!!?!???!!!????
I've seen and held Doug's bone many times :o :yike:
And let me tell you... its unreal!! :chuckle:

509er, thanks for putting that. My thoughts exactly :o. Thats funny stuff.
-
228+? even with a average 22" spread credit you're looking at 240" :yike:
-
:yike: WOW that buck is a beast!
-
phool...I was just thinking net typ....
-
We'll have to wait to see the tail of the tape. Its amazing how it takes a 100+ antler and drops it down to 90.
-
YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE THIS!!!
I called the guy that found this shed this morning to tell him about all of the comments that have been made. I joked with him about how everyone was asking about "where" the shed was found.
YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE WHAT HE SAID:
This is the most un-greedy person I have ever talked to about shed hunting. He said that he was so disappointed about not being able to find the other side after hours of looking, that he just wants someone to find the other side before the critters totally have their way with it. HE WANTS TO HAVE ANYONE AND EVERYONE THAT CAN, go out and look for the match, so that we can see just how big this guy really is.
He told me right where he picked this side up - I was looking on Google Earth as we were talking, and here are the GPS coordinates for right where he found this awesome shed:
40 deg. 44' 14" North
74 deg. 10' 55" West
I CAN'T BELIEVE HE ACTUALLY WANTED TO SHARE THIS WITH EVERYONE, BUT LET'S GET OUT THERE AND FIND THE MATCH!!!
-
I'm guessing April fools are in order or someone needs to take this guy to the doctor. Do I dare look at the coordinates...and if its one of my favorite places to go I THINK I"LL KILL HIM
-
I didn't even realize it was April Fools Days - awful timing I guess
Take the info for what it's worth, I know I'm leaving this afternoon - so good luck
-
...can't connect to google earth on the work computer. Are you sure these aren't the coordinates to somewhere on East Sprauge in Spokane...? :chuckle:
This would be a good April Fools joke if it isn't...
-
:chuckle: Yeah, no google earth here anyway. I swear if its where I was headed this weekend withthe Mrs I'll become severly violent.
-
Dont be "Fooled"... :chuckle:

Manhattan Island, NY...

Manhattan Island, NY...
yep it's in new york!!! :chuckle:
-
The lattitude would put it in Oregon. Bone is that were you go? :chuckle:
-
I wonder if its snowing there too like it is here. Goodluck looking for a year old antler under 6 inches of fresh snow. LOL
No but I am thinking about it Slider.
-
wonder if its snowing in the Kiabab
-
Pretty funny...
Bone have you ever posted a pic of that antler on here? I think I remembered seeing it on that other site a few years ago? Not sure if it was yours or not.
-
I think just of its eyeguard, an dmaybe of my daughter with it outside casually. I need to get some good ones. I hope to find a genetic equivalent this weekend if I can keep the flu bug from going rampant in my house. The Mrs and I were supposed to go, but Lil Bone has Flu B, and my throat is scratchy. :bash:
-
Good luck if you make it out.
-
COME ON!!!
You can't ruin it for everyone. I wanted to see how many people would book flights to Newark, New Jersey to go look for a mule deer shed.
Oh well, I hope at least a few of you fell for it and checked the coordinates.
-
Wow the shed doesnt look that big. 240 for a typical 4x4 is huge congrads.
-
ya there's no way that thing would score 246 your effing high!! its a good shed tho don't get me wrong
