Title: High Buck - Eastern Alpine Lakes
Post by: jwfaber1 on August 16, 2019, 04:16:52 AM: Thinking about going into the eastern part of the alpine lakes wilderness for the high buck hunt but I just remembered that it’s mostly enchantment zone, and anywhere in the enchantments requires a lottery permit for camping....
There are plenty of remote areas in the enchantments that I’m sure could get you away from all the hikers.
Anybody ever hunt that area? I was thinking it might be worth camping outside the enchantment boundary. Are there even any deer in there? I’ve seen plenty of mule deer in the region but I’ve yet to scout inside the wilderness there (I plan to this weekend)
