Title: Lead free Rifled slug or buckshot?
Post by: Pete112288 on August 19, 2019, 10:06:32 AM
So 95% of my hunting is in firearm restricted areas. And one of my new favorite spots is in an area that is restricted to only non toxic ammunition. Also, muzzleloader is not an option here.
I have been on a hunt for shotgun ammo but cant seem to find any non-toxic for the smoothbore.
I have a rifled slug gun, but it does not like much of the copper loads available and I really dont want to give up the zero I have on it with the Partition Golds anyway. I have a lot of experience using the smoothbore in both buckshot and rifled slugs, and most shots in this area are 35 yards and less anyway.
And I dont have the time or money to sink into testing much of the more expensive sabot slugs either.
I was hoping to find a non toxic option in a rifled slug or buckshot but keep coming up short, or the ones I find are discontinued.
Can anyone point me in a good direction?

Try the Premier Expander slugs.

Even if they shot 5 MOA they would be superior to buckshot at any distance over 20 to 30 yards.
