I will be deep in the Idaho hills for the opener of rifle season. Who else is going and when are you going to be there?
-
We leave on the 11th and come home 20th I have 2 deer tags and 1 wolf tag in pocket
-
I'll be hunting almost the whole season this year. Good crop of bucks running around.
-
I will swing over various weekends and occasional afternoons from mid-November to early December.
-
I've got the first 5 days slotted for deer, 9 mid November for elk. And then back again of I don't harvest a buck on the opening week
-
My son talked me into buying a tag so we'll be in the backcountry somewhere for the opener. Haven't been to Idaho since the 90's so this will be a great time for him and I to explore new territory.
-
I'll be there for a week or 10 days early. Then going back mid Nov and will stay through blackpowder season if I still have a tag.
-
I’ll be there for about 9 days this year

Have you been there before I scouted it twice this year. Very steep country, nothing in Washington I've seen compares to it.

Yes this will be our 5th year hunting there. Very steep, make sure and bring your Wheaties. There's opportunity to be had there though, you'll enjoy your time there for sure.

How’s the snow Looking in the high country of 39
-
I'll be there every day. Really looking forward to this fall!! Good luck everyone and be safe!
-
I cannot wait to be a nonresident in Idaho.
Sure glad they welcome us.
Might even creep down to the Shady Nook and stir up some locals.
-
See all y'all around. The white tail better watch out for the lead being slung their way.

Ahhh the Shady Nook. So dark you can’t see what you’re eating.
Haha delicious though after a week of trail mix and clif bars.

Can’t wait to hit Idaho

Well, Hell.
Just got a notice today that I'm to report a week from tomorrow for jury duty. Thought about trying to postpone it, but decided to just get it over with. It's gonna mess with my first Idaho hunt of the year though. In stead of heading to Lewiston then Unit 16 for a 10 day hunt, I'm going to take my brother home to Wallace and stay with him until Sunday and hunt around there.
Will head back to Idaho around Nov 15 for a late hunt of up to two weeks.

Throw the notice in the garbage!! As long as you have not responded yet, just throw it in the garbage and go hunting! Only way for them to prove you received the notice is certified mail. Idaho hunting is way more important
-
Might pick up some Karma points with the get it done approach.

Well, that will probably be a much more productive hunt anyway!!! Good luck to you!

Heading over this weekend to take the wife's 16 year old cousin on his first hunt. I also have a tag in my pocket if a nice buck makes an appearance but if not will wait for November. I just want the wife's cousin to get a deer and the daughter to drop an elk the next week. Ill be around unit 5
-
How was it?
My area that used to be great turned out bad.
Hope you all did better than me
-
I took the year off for the first time in a looooong time.
If you can scrape up a big buck in the general thsi year. Take a lot of pride in that buck!
-
Anyone have an update? Thinking of heading to 39/43 with everybody else this weekend to see if I can get lucky, filled my WA tag so won’t be shooting a small one.
-
Lots of hunters, the bucks still aren't with the does yet.
-
Is there any snow to speak of up high?
-
I was around 6500' in 43 with about 8" of snow. In that area it seemed everything had already moved down.
-
Thanks for the info
