Title: Beautiful Chocolate Bear
Post by: tgomez on August 31, 2019, 07:06:00 PM
I am proud to have harvested my 4th black bear ever in this gorgeous chocolate colored black bear. I shot it at 301 yards with my 30-06. This is the 9th bear I've seen this season.

Great bear! What are you planning to do with him? Rug or mount or neither?

shot one Saturday that I could not find. Spent the night on the mountain looking for him and next morning. Only guess is it crawled in one of the 1000’s of caves and died.

I think those are just pine needles stuck in his mouth/nose from me dragging him. I cook it in a variety of ways; meatloaf, crock pot stew,  tacos,  burgers,  etc. I am getting it butchered into half sausage and half ground meat.
