Bought a new rifle and need to mount the optic. Thought about buying the Wheeler kit + professional reticle leveling tool and doing it myself, but I figured I could pay a gunsmith to do it better than I could and for less. I don’t buy rifles on a regular basis, so I don’t need to own the tools.
Using the Talley integrated rings/base, so I’d like a place where they will lapp the rings properly (not much margin for error). I’ve noticed a few shops don’t do that by default unless if you ask custom.
Thanks!

If you are not 100% sure the new scope and rings are the one you will have forever or have other rifles, I would buy the stuff to do it yourself. Lapping and mounting can be easily done in an afternoon and you will recoup the costs of the equipment in 1-2 scopes and have the knowledge and skills to do it again.

"Lapping" is not reccommended by all ring makers........

So does anyone have a gunsmith recommendation in seattle? Still would like to know if anyone can answer my original question.
Listen guys, I’ve read multiple conflicting reports on whether or not to lapp Talleys. I get it. Manufacturer recommends not to, and will void warranty. I would like to have a professional make that call.
