-
Awesome bull, but sure doesnt look 400+ like the post says.

:yeah:
Really long Main beams!

nice bull to say the least. Who was the hunter?? A buddy of mine's cousin bought it a couple years ago for like $62,000
-

How many 400” bulls have you seen?

You registered more than 2.5 years ago and youve only ever made one post, yet you jump on here right away to get defensive. This your bull then?

Dandy bull!

No this isn’t my bull, wish it was though. But like I said, how many 400” bulls have you seen?

Zero in person. Just in pics. Never laid hands on anything that tapes out past 360. Just saying it doesnt really look 400 to me, going off what i have to compare to. Not a big deal, and im not trashing the guys bull. But you cant tell me you jump right on my comment getting salty about it, with only 1 post in nearly 3 years, and youre not personally connected to this bull somehow.

Amazing bull. Congrats to the hunter!
-
This one is 354'. I can see it being close to 400'
-
That’s a beast

Monster  Congrats to the hunter

That's a big bull. Congrats to the hunter and the guide for finding a WA stud bull.
Long main beams and 7 on each side. The 4's and 5's are long.
-
I saw a 7x7 just like that a little over a week ago. Chasing probably 50 cows. Any idea of the general area?
-
This one is 354'. I can see it being close to 400'
I don’t see 400”.375 tops.
-
Pics can be deceiving
Either way it's a stud and congrats to the hunter.
Thankfull we got to see it.

Never seen a rack and turkey hanging from the ceiling before :chuckle:
-
I saw this bull for a moment in the back of the truck driving by I thought 380 looking at the 8 point side. I have also looked at many pictures. I don’t think some pictures do it justice. I have photo scored it from the first pic I saw and have a hard time getting over 370.
A friend who has laid hands on it and knows elk (he guides elk) says it’s bigger than the pictures make it look. I’ll trust him.
PS: Don’t ask where I saw it as I’m not going to say.
-
Beautiful Bull....and who knows the Tag Holders situation but I personally would NEVER have shot that bull the first week in Sept. The fun hasn't even started yet and if you have the time you would see several bulls of that quality.
Thanks for sharing and congrats on a masher of a bull.

Alright, i guess i'll believe Erin...
This unit is producing some real mashers!

Some of the other pics make it look bigger than the 2 do in that IG link the OP posted.
:dunno:
It looks pretty huge to me.

And no wonder people stop post pictures on the site with all the internet official SCI / B&C / P&Y scorers .

Well... when you post pictures of your animal on social media with #bigbull, #400club, #hugeelk, etc I guess you get the good with the bad...

pics can be deceiving but not that much. It is a very nice bull just saying no way 400”.
-
All I’m gonna say is if any of you guys knew the shooter, you’d know that he’d rather eat his tag then shoot something under 400”... because he’s killed multiple 400” bulls. Pictures can be deceiving but just remember, big bodies and big frames sometimes make long tines look shorter. I’m gonna go back into my silent hole now and keep chuckling over the comments.

Yeah I get that , but if someone knows the score why do people have to doubt it , or say no way I only see 320" etc. I known of multiple record book anilmals that will never see the light of day , or their stories told ( which is sad ) because of Internet scorers .
-
Stud bull for sure. Awesome job. Sounds like the guide had some history with this bull. Would love to see some velvet trail cam pictures of him.
-
Not sure why people who post their scores or say they shot a 500 lb bear give two craps what others think? I’m learning slowly to just keep my opinions to myself, not all of them, but most of them, to myself on this site. My opinion on if this bull is over 400”,.....who cares!! Nice bull

I agree- it is sad. I think this is an excellent animal. I have zero skill at scoring though. I just saw an animal that was posted with a lot of #'s touting its virtues. That is always going to bring out challengers I guess. Maybe they could have posted it up with a challenge to guess the score? Maybe it would have less opposition? Idk, I guess I really don't care either way.
Congratulations to the shooter!
Great bull!
-
Very Nice bull! And is that a scar in his neck? Pretty cool if so

People will always *censored* on these animals and hunters. Not sure why but it always happens. People toss out numbers but will almost never break down how they came up with it. "No way that's 400", but then you ask to clarify and you get silence. So lets break it down and let's be CONSERVATIVE on the numbers and see what we get.
Mass: 29 a side for 58.
Mains: 55 for 110
Right side: g1-18, g2-18, g3-12, g4-20, g5-16, g6-6, for a total of 90
Left side: g1-18, g2-17, g3-12, g4-20, g5-17, g6-7, g7-1, for a total of 92.
110+58+92+90=350"
Now none of the pics show spread very well so let's just throw 38 at it and you get 388".
If I'm off 1 inch on each of the main tines that's 12". Probably has a better spread than 38, and wouldn't surprise me a bit if he had a bit more on the beams. So to say "no way that bull goes 400 is just a silly comment.
Now I could be an inch long on everything and he's 365 but I'm not gonna see "no way he goes this much or that much" :chuckle:
Congrats to the shooter and guide! Stud bull!
-
Lots of length on the 4 and 5 and 1 through 3 are all solid. I woulda guessed between 380 and 390 but who really cares its a really nice bull regardless
-
If that bulls not 400” he’s right there close. An 8x7 like that racks up quite a few extra points over a clean six.
-
It’s a beast!
-
Very nice bull.
-
Wow! A monster!
-
Who cares what it scores or if they guy says “400” maybe he is pumped with Adrenalin and just shouted it out! Awesome bull congrats to the people involved 👍🏻
-
Perfectly stated Karl
-
Fantastic bull, congrats to the hunter for tagging a real trophy!
-
Really nice Bull, congrats to all involved!
-
Monster...outstanding bull!

Karl this is the internet.
Quit with that logic.

Quit with that logic.
That is EXACTLY the thought that went through my mind when I read Karl's post!
The second thought that I had was, if a dude has the coin to buy this tag, he's probably not a moron. He's made a few good decisions in his life. He clearly hired the right guide...don't you think its's possible that he had it scored by someone competent before he piped off some outlandish number that is not even close to accurate?
-

Interesting first post.
Thanks.. Like to make a splash! Or possibly since I know someone with a tag in that area who has been watching a lot of the bulls, it looks like the one in that area that was collared, I was interested if that was the case.

His Instagram said 44” inside spread so that’s up to 394 without adding anything to point or mass measurements.
So I bet the guys with the actual rack know it’s 400.

Isn't there another thread on here that mentions a collared bull in the general area being taken recently?

Why? A couple good bulls a year are killed with collars.

Based off his post I’d guess it’s the one they intended to hunt.

Where? Did it have a collar? A couple a year? Hmmm

Now I’m interested...I had a stud 7 with a collar on cam last year..i want in on the fun :dunno: I just need to figure out all this “general area” talk :chuckle:
-
Dream bull! Congrats to the hunter.
-
What a great bull worthy of the tag. Reminds me of the beautiful 8x8 the lady got last year in the bumping.
-
Awesome trophy. The score of this particular bull doesn't matter to me but saying it's over 400" is an injustice to actual 400" bulls lol.
-
Here's another angle. Haven't seen this one on the internet yet and have no idea who the third dude is. It's a bada$$ bull. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190913/9bab6c3a0026cd8929aefe5088fa040b.jpg)
