So two years ago I might have raised whitpirates bidding paddle at the sheep banquet while he was in the restroom :dunno: anyway we ended up with a trip for two sponsored by Peasley Hunts. We will be chasing moose on the 28th . We where offered to pick up deer tags too but originally passed on it . Low and behold Chris went and got me a mule deer for my 50th birthday , Needless to say is was shocked by his generosity. It really made my summer and to know we have friends like this is really special. We hope to make it a fun hunt and finally be able to be behind the guns for one of those big fellas. This is considered a blue collar hunt without trophy aspect so we can just hunt and have fun without the pressure of finding a giant . Thanks Chris again , Lets have a blast !
-
Go get em! I’m jealous!
-
Who else doesnt believe that somehow Corey WILL still find a giant?
Go get em men!!!

I’m sure they’ll run across a giant bull elk at least. Them Corey can pout because he doesn’t have a elk tag. :chuckle:
But your right if anyone can randomly stumble on a giant it’s him.

I can fit in your luggage Corey !!! Have fun guys!!

Shoot straight gents! Gonna be a ride I'm sure!

Seems like the new norm. "Hey we got back from the trip of a lifetime and killed a world record. I'll write more next week while you all wait by your computers." I'm dying here with some of these threads.

Congrats, don’t know how I missed this thread!

or they have high demand jobs and have been gone from work and their families for 9 days and have better things to do then update a thread immediately upon return :dunno:

Your statement is true often enough but this guy has been part of some of the best threads on Hunt-Wa over the years.

Nice! Congratulations on your success!

ok guys im on it . first off all let me say it was so nice to not hear my phone ring for seven days . Two years ago whitpirate bid on a moose hunt at the washington wild sheep banquet while he was in the bathroom :chuckle:. that being said it was a bucket list item and a life long dream for both of us to harvest a moose . We planned the hunt for this oct and set the ball in motion . Originally I was going to ad a deer tag but after hearing about a trophy fee I decided to pass . Unbenounced to me Chris Worked out a deal with the outfitter and added the deer option for my 50th birthday this november. This really made my summer knowing I have such good buddys .We set off on the 27th (only a few hours after our planned departure , work got in the way a bit ) we hit the normal i5 grind north then blew through the border only dropping $18.00 us to get our Fire arms through customs . After a quick bite at a friendly steak house we ended up in hope for the night (fitting name right). We woke early saturday for the Drive to Williams Lake to meet up with Charlie Peasley . As we pulled out of town the weather was nasty blowing rainy and on the verge of snow , as we eased up the first grade the super chevy bucked then the traction control lamp and check engine popped on ! No throttle oh no and she glided to a stop. Of course I had a full tool kit (10 mm wrench ). quick Battery disconnect and she cleared up . after driving another 200 miles wondering if she was gonna crap out I decided it must have iced up the throttle plates . We weren't gonna denied even if uhaul was gonna be involved ......more to come .

It's a good thing you know a pretty killer mechanic :chuckle:
-
No kidding.

Technical difficulties pics to come ......

Old man, I'll be down at your shop tomorrow morning if you need help getting the pictures figured out. I understand, technology is difficult once you pass 50.
-
Modern vehicles are like old computers. Dash lights come on. Reboot. Drive.
I'm excited for the pictures.
-
Mind you these are giant moose so the file is probably to big to load :bash:
-
We where able to harvest moose and get in on the guide filling his bear tag with the dogs , that was a blast and helped a couple old gals with a problem bear.
-
I’ll help the big man out a bit with posting some pictures. He doesn’t technology too well sometimes. :chuckle:
-
-
That is a pile of meat laying there. Nice moose gentleman!!! Sounds like you had a great hunt.
-
Congrats on filling your tags.
on the lighter side, nice to see you left room for improvement in the future :hello: JK
those are confirmed kills with lots of meat you and your familys 8)
-
Good job gentlemen.
-
Sounds like a great trip! Congrats on the success
-
If you ever get tired of wrenching go with a one syllable truck name.
Nice moose.
-
I’m glad the truck didn’t bog you down. I’m glad you guys had a great hunt.
-
my phone doesnt like posting to this site apparently 4 g wont get it done. These are the type of bulls they get on this meat hunt and are what we expected , It's fun to not have to worry about the score and just have fun . kinda takes you back to when you started hunting.
-
Too much emphasis these days on size. A solid legal hunt with Friends or family can’t be beat.
-
Congrats guys and thanks for the update. I bet that bear hunt was fun. Hunting with dogs is so exciting when it happens. Pretty slow until it is total chaos.
-
Here is a picture of that bear.
-
I agree with everyone who said it's about the trip and the people. What an amazing time and full freezers. Great job dropping them bulls. I'm still trying to master the art of bidding while in restroom.

Better be a good looking spike buck in your next calendar. :chuckle:
Great job on the moose and the bear! Sounds like a fun hunt!

there is a ton of bear up there , Charlie knows his stuff on them . the dogs struck three times just driving over there . if anyone wants a spring bear hunt he is a solid choice. I believe they are gonna sell a couple fall hunts too . pics don't do him justice took three of us to load him up , we didn't weigh him but he said easily over five hundred i think he ended up close to seven foot squared
-
I was more excited about the hide on him. The fur is gorgeous!

technically you and chris are equivalent to 3 or 4 guys so really it took 5 people to load it :chuckle:
-
Well done Cory.
-
Hell yeah! Looks like a fun trip and a freezer filler. Doesn’t get any better than that! Thanks for sharing Corey
-
that's awesome!

I cannot put into words how pumped I am that this trip turned out so well! I know what a moose means to you chris, and to have the boss man by your side for it makes it all that much better! Solid work gents
