Title: Porky pics
Post by: 509er on April 02, 2009, 08:51:44 PM: Here are couple of pics of a porky that I took today before I ended his career of eating sheds. It was funny, he kept trying to backup and hit me with his tail, but could not see me when backing up, so he would stop and turn to see if I was still in his path and then turn back and start backing up while sweeping his tail.

When I was over hunting in Ione a few weeks back a person there told me that the local Indian's would pay up to $200. for them. They use the quills in their native art.

No *censored*? Seems a bit extreme for an animal nobody really cares about and there's not really too many laws regarding them.

I don't think porcupines are classified in this state.

First one I was able to pull them out, second time I had to bring him to the vet, third time I was again able to pull them out, and the last weekend he must have thought he was tough because he had quills all down his chest and legs and face. He had so many in his mouth that he couldn't shut it and had some in his eyes. By the time I got home he wouldn't let me near him and was growling at me. I had no choice but to put him down. So kill every porcupine you see.
