Title: Yellow Perch?
Post by: Parasite on October 04, 2019, 03:52:10 AM: I've heard of some yellow perch lakes here in western Washington, but I can't recall which lakes they were. Any help? You can PM if you want. It's been years since I've went after yellow perch, and I'd like to give it a shot this fall.

I don’t remember about Sammamish but in lake Washington you can use bait.
After you get a small perch, cut it up and use it’s fillet as bait. It’s how you get the big ones

Now go save some baby salmon !

That's what I wanted to hear. How big do they get in this lake?

You can get them in the 10-12" size pretty regularly in Lk Wa and Sammamish but you need to be able to move. Sometimes the schools on your fish finder will all be a similar size class, just gotta keep looking until you find the schools of bigger fish. As mentioned they are schooled up heavy right now and will be through the fall. Drop shot tandem bait rigs and also small heavy jigging spoons tipped with bait are great too.

There is a really good chance I will be ice fishing Lake Cascade this winter. I can't wait to catch some jumbo's.
