Had a great hunt around Mt. Baldy, hiked up and down canyons, saw elk, deer and sheep. Started seeing alot of sheep hanging out in cliffs and steep canyons and put a stalk on them, my fourth spot and stalk of the day I found a group of 6 or 7 sheep feeding up a draw, after I got up to them, which took an hour and a half I started seeing sheep everywhere, one really big ram, lip curled chasing ewe's was awesome but no juvenile rams. I look at next ridge over and spot 3 sheep feeding along that hill. 3 rams, two of them too big for my tag, found a nice rock to get a steady rest and waited several minutes for the Ram to turn for me and clear the other two rams, my first shot sent them running and looking what happened, they all three ran about 15 yards and were looking straight at me. I thought my first shot was good but sent another one right through chest and he piled up head first sliding down the ridge. I was sick to my stomach as it took me over two hours to find him and it was getting dark, my Dad went with me on this trip which was awesome but he's not able to hike anymore. Caped him and gutted him on the hillside and had to come back the next morning for the rest of the meat, the weather cooperated and it dropped down to 34 degrees that night.

Congrats on filling your tag. I'm glad you were able to find him.

thx it was pretty awesome hunt, of course I saw a group of juvenile rams hanging out in the flats the next day when we left.

Yeah, but how exciting would that be. Challenge makes it "the hunt".

Congrats! Glad you got one!

Thanks super excited to get one even though its not the OIL big ram, talking to the biologist while he put a plug in the horns and took samples was pretty interesting too, I guess the ewes that are sick with pneumonia or have problems have been all having male lambs and that was part of the reason for the juvenile ram tags. The lamb survival was way better this year than last year too so hopefully they get it all figured out.
