Title: Caribou recovery tied to killing wolves

If only WDFW and its Bios didn't worship predators to the detriment of everything else.

Good read...thanks for posting.   Our state is a lost cause.....the mule deer herds would rebound in fairly short order if they brought back hound hunting cougar and bears.  The wolves in Washington are a problem too.....and it will only get worse if not controlled.

What I saw in there twice is that they meet and consult with "stake holders"........that would be those affected by the unmanaged wolves.  That points to a glaring problem with wdfw which is allowing politicizing of everything animal and fish in this state.  If wolf management was addressed with principal stake holders, we wouldnt be in the position we are today.

This state has allowed special interest groups from out of state to dictate our wolf management/lack of program.  wdfw has internally placed pro wolf persons in the theater where they can be most effective.  Even the game commissions wolf committee has a pro wolf woman as committee chair and she shouldnt even be anywhere near the game commission.

Its an ongoing program to install as many antis within wdfw as possible in order to NOT manage if for wildlife as most of the other western states see it.  We are in an island of change here as state government seeks to make wa. hunt free/gun free, racing cal. for the honor of being first.

IMHO, the director has been trying to do a better job with predator management, including cougars, bears, and wolves. Now that Inslee's involved, that all flies out the window. It's his next campaign coffers that he's thinking about and it'll work. The animal rights groups will shower him with donations and so will their minions.

Its nice to see the report on the study. I am not surprised by the results and anyone who is, is either in denial or has an agenda.

Totally agree, and Im also sure inslee is tightening his grip on the new dierector.

Well, since his announcement last week seemed to contradict the future plans of the director in the case of multiple documented attacks on livestock, he's downright crunching Susewind's cahones. I wouldn't be at all surprised to lose the Director very soon. And that would be a shame.

The party of science yet again abandons science when it doesn't match their view on the world.  Kind of ironic given that is exactly what they accuse others of.

Nah- it was an abandonment of science in lieu of emotion.  We tried to remove wolves in N Idaho and NE Washington but we're summarily rejected.  Wolves were removed in the BC portion of the South Selkirk Mountains but it was too little too late.
