Just a little frustrated, so this year I let a friend talk me into hunting modern rifle for deer. I planned the hunt and secured private property for us to hunt so we wouldn't have to deal with people ruining our hunt. One property is owned by my in-laws and we also have the neighboring farm.
Well 15 mins ago pumpkin shows up an plops down right on the shooting lane I had been sitting on since 1 pm after I moved. I walk over, 400 ish yards and he accuses me right away of trespassing and let's me know I have no right hunting here since he has hunted it the last 12 years. Then he tells me two more of his buddies are on my in-laws property working their way to him.
I calmly told him that is unfortunate I was planning on hunting 3 more days and I was told by both landowners they were not giving out access to anyone this year. At this he throws his hands in the air and says they gave me access 12 years ago (nevermind my in-laws bought the place 5 years ago) go find your own spot.
I hate rifle deer hunting wa, I don't really know how to move forward now that my hunt plan is whacked.

Call the sheriff get him off your land, problem solved. Tell your neighbor he has guys on his land that don’t have permission this year and volunteer to remove them via sheriff. Might get some points for turning in illegal hunters/poachers

:yeah: :yeah:
This is easy......Based on your story this is a good problem to have. The only reason not to have them removed.....is if there is more to the story. :dunno: :dunno:

The property owner needs to make the call..you have no skin in the game..

Its a Trespass law as in Washington state we as land owners DO NOT need to post our land to be trespassing Go to WDFW trespassing laws. I would have #1 chased them off, found they're vehicles and reported these plates as a trespass.
I know what you mean by "pumkins" known as the Pumkin Patch! Thank goodness they had the goll to even wear hunter any orange! This IS frustataiting at best... Get this recorded/video cameras game trail camera's, & watch this property well... :bash: and record any malishoius activity, and it will impead your hunt to just protect the property! Its worth it and NEXT>>>

Talk about a rollercoaster of a day. No real resolution on if we will have hunters where we are hunting tomorrow, although both landowners are on the lookout for other trucks/hunters.
The day did take a turn though. A nice 3x3 ended up strolling right by my buddy a few minutes before last light. He made one good shot and the buck was down. This was my buddies first buck in 4 years, he was real excited.

IT happends THAT FAST, BOYS! GOOD TAKE, meat in the freezer for Winter! It's been since 1999 for me up in Bridegport for a 2X3 Muley! He was 212lbs

Congrats on the buck. I am glad you survived your first day! :IBCOOL:

Nice buck....hopefully you can get yours now.

Wetwoodshunter, glad you guys salvaged your hunt! Hard to believe some folks out there. "They gave me access twelve years ago!" Really, people need to check in annually with the landowner, ideally months ahead of season...
A friend of mine in Idaho was walking onto his own property to hunt one year and was actually confronted by a guy who questioned his right to be there. My friend asked him how he had access, and the guy said he'd talked to "old man Stevens" 7 years previous. My friend asked if he had conducted a seance, since that had been his father, at that point deceased for 12 years! At this point, the guy realizes he is in a rather difficult position, and doesn't try to play any more cards...

We got a second deer today. This this is my buddies wife with her first deer ever. She dropped this buck with a headshot at 200, not where she was aiming but it did the trick!
I guess the hunt exceeded my expectations since I wanted them to get deer. I have two more days off to hunt for myself but I'm headed back West to save the wife chips for other hunts.

Heck of a first buck

Awesome! Glad you all are having a great hunt, despite the trespass issues earlier on!

WTG wetwoodshunter! Good job not letting others ruin your hunt.
