So I spotted a nice 5x5 while deer hunting the weekend before muzzy elk; hunted hard but never found him during the season. I did see a couple nice bucks along with a couple cows and some small bulls (3pt area). I was a little disappointed because I was pretty optimistic after I found the 5x5 bull. That area was just a jungle though and I don't know if I ever found a spot with more than 50 yards of visibility.
Fast forward to the opening weekend of modern deer, but in a different unit. Two days after muzzy elk closes, this guy walks in front of me at 65 yards with no shame! :bash:

He came strolling through the clearing where I was sitting and chased off a doe that had been feeding out there for almost an hour. The only time I ever see a bull is during deer season and the only time I ever see a buck is during elk season! :chuckle:
