A buddy of mine found a rifle leaning against a tree in the Conconully area last week. If you know of anyone that lost it have them shoot me a PM and I will put them in touch with the finder as long as they can describe it.
Thanks.

Whew, that was a close one. The last thing we all need is a prototype left in the woods. Next thing you know they start mass producing, and organize a counter attack. :chuckle:
-
The good news is that they apparently haven't mastered the art of ammunition making yet. It was unloaded. ;)
-
Will you need to take it to a FFL to be legal?.....maybe it’s a set up! :chuckle:
-
I highly respect your honesty in trying to find the rightful owner, May large fish and big racks come your way.

It occurred on the sane side of the state, not in King or Pierce county so I think it's safe. :)

I did see something on FB about somebody who lost one, not sure where
-
The lost rifle I saw on FB was found...

:yeah:  Do be careful about the transfer. Your friend(s) might be well-served to take it to an FFL or the police. :twocents:
-
shoot me a PM
How can they SHOOT you a PM without the rifle? Wait... never mind. :chuckle:
-
How does this even happen? :dunno: senility?

:yeah: I would drop it off with the local leo for the area it was found....you never know it's origin, used in a crime, stolen etc ....

When you pack in a chair, heater, beer cooler, booties, magazines, cigars, and a female companion, it's easy to leave something behind. Roughing it is difficult.

I found out how it happens the other day :(
Got back to my truck in the dark, unloaded rifle but keys were buried in my pack (anal about not loosing keys, Id be screwed no cell)
Set unloaded rifle on my tire in between the big lugs so it wont fall, offload my pack in the bed, root around for keys, start truck and make sure seat heater are on cause my lower back hurting from all the boot miles, move oack to the front cause its rsining, sit in the seat a bit resting and organizing sll my new waypoints.. ....
Drive off, hear a "thump" wth was that?
Oh carp!
I made it 50 feet, but first time I ever done that.

Only 50 feet, you were lucky! I did the same thing with my favorite shotgun while loading up a Livingston on a roof rack in the Winchester wasteway about 20 years ago at last light. Got all the way home (Kirkland at the time) and while unloading I was looking for my shotgun and could not find it... then I remembered! Got back in the truck and drove all the way back to Moses Lake and found it in the dark. Got back home at 2am.
It was only a cheap 870 but so many memories. Christmas present from my dad - first turkey - and many many more memories. I have guns worth a lot more money today but that old 870 with over 10,000 rounds through it is my favorite. Her name is Heather!
Hope the wayward rifle finds it's way home. If not, I hope it gets a loving new one!

A friend did this with his Benelli. Leaned it on the tire. Started to drive and heard the clunk. Went back and that shot gun is now set up to shoot around corners. :chuckle:
