Saw 3 wolves down low in the Northport Area last weekend, Also saw no deer down low...…..Coincidence, I would say so :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:

Did you get any with your truck?
-
I wish, had one staring at us at 150 yrds, would love to have ventilated him. I have video that I will post later

you can find them on mitchell road ne kid
-
You got three to choose from. You can FIND THEM in all three
-
you wouldn't believe how desolate and animal free some of those areas have become, just utterly wiped out
-
They might be lower on north side of Mineral Mt. today. Fresh tracks... Beef cows still out and about.
-
I remember talking to WA residence about the problem in Idaho years ago.
Many just couldn't grasp it and had the "it will never happen to me" mentality.
Sad now many are seeing it effect their wildlife areas.
If man is going to manage part of the ecosystem he better manage it all.
Shoot these damn things and plant hatchery fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I know, SERIOUSLY. There was getting to be decent elk numbers, some serious trophy muledeer if you knew where to look. Not even counting the mountain whitetails and moose. They call it progress

Ya, I've warned that rancher there about his cows gonna get eaten. He couldn't hit the broad side of the barn with his granpa's old ottsix :chuckle: :chuckle:
but not funny when his cows get eaten off his own private property
I let that farmer borrow my foxpro once, he called in half a dozen yotes instantly and freked out :chuckle: didn't hit a one!

The best measure Ive got is shed count. In 2010 i picked up almost 150 sheds, im under 30 for this year

You just hit the root of my ire, why I joined HW in the first place. Elk were taking off in the NE and growing DISPITE all the OTC tags WDFW handed out like crack over the years and utter failure to manage the herds here. yet they were growing anyways! Moose was doing great and growing numbers, mules were fairly stable
then the wolves, continued OTC tags, cow hunts!! GAH!! :bash: :bash: :bash:
We could have epic herds of elk here, more than enough to make up for central WA's declines.

They do...did quite well in that country too!

Let's see some of your wolves pictures Doug

I was asking hoping it was the wedge GMU105 hoping for a little tribal retaliation. I am very aware of the wolf situation there. Suffered some loss myself. Will be hunting 111 on my private ground this weekend. Have a good buddy from the REZ has killed 2 already sort of grown a taste for shooting them.

You are right, we didn't see a single Mule Deer this weekend, we usually do, we did see some WT but they were a way aways from where we saw the wolves, these wolves were literally right down to the river close to homes

We were camped out at big meadow lake just west of Ione for a moose hunt last week. Wolf track everywhere in the snow. Sitting around the fire Monday night and they were howling off an on for a half hour. >:(
-
To dang many these days :'( :bash:
-
Hope the tribe members make a point to go after them
-
They are trapping and shooting a few. They are being pretty quiet about it though.

Saw 2 wolves in GMU 117 on opening day for late season one had a collar 330 yards I was tempted. I also got stopped by fish and game 15 minutes after I saw them. in 20 years of hunting that area I have never seen game officer in that area. 2 days later I spot the same wolves 3 miles away in another spot of mine and again i see another game officer cruising the area in his truck. coincidence maybe or could they be tracking the signal from the collar.

Making sure no shoots a precious wolf

They call and tell us when they are out in our field in 111 if there are cattle there sometimes. Not all of them are chipped, and they have no clue how many there are.
