Title: Do you Bond ?
Post by: ghosthunter on November 25, 2019, 07:01:42 PM
My most favorite handguns I own are two Bond hand cannons. They are my everyday carry.
A Ranger ll and a Texas Defender. I carry them in a double shoulder rig I had made some years ago.
I just saw a unique holster and contacted the guy who made it . Ordered one for my self. Excited to try it out.

Couple photos he sent me of the holster.

Anyone else Bond?

They sure look cool and fun.

I have considered them, but for everyday carry I like a mag with more rounds.

I am considering buying one for fun.

Going to give a positive shout out to B & B Holsters for the excellent customer service. After seeing the SOB holster pictured above on a Facebook post I contacted Robert at B & B. We arranged payment and he told me several weeks before my holster would be made.

Than I got a message he had moved me up on his list and my holster would arrive this coming Saturday. Wow
Nov. 18 2019 first contact. new Holster Nov. 30, 2019. Handmade.

Nice.

The new holster is arriving today.

Going to do some empty gun drills with the wife. Where she can step behind me and draw off my SOB holster like she is taking shelter from a possible approaching conflict. And than step out armed, pass to me, or fire from behind me.

We will see.

Glad your holster is coming.   That will be cool.

That's a pretty intricate drill for a specific instance, but if noting else it will be a good excuse to snuggle.    8)

So whats the attraction with these guns?  2 shots, and they look god awful uncomfortable to shoot with those little grips.

Well you got to try one. They are  no different than any other gun to shoot. The dark grip is a extended grip. People think the are to handle but they are not. They are heavy for their look.

The draw...
One screw to remove and you can put on almost any pistol caliber barrel you want.
In any length from 2 inches to 6 inches.
They both came with 410/45 barrels. I also have 9mm and 380 barrels.
Barrel ship right to you door from Bond.
36 different grips. Which fit all the frames.
All the barrels fit all the frames except California models.

According to the FBI the average citizen involved gun fight is two shots. And over.
They are easy to conceal.
They are built like tanks. Single action.
They can shot any .410 Shell made.
No +p ammo.
They will last several life times.

Everybody thinks they are going to need a lot of firepower in a gun fight. I look at it a little different. If a guy with a gun is intent on shooting you and you are unaware of his intent. Than you are dead. All the fire power in the world won’t change that.
But if you see the threat coming or here it coming you have a chance ,just my  :twocents:
Now if the zombie apocalypse were upon us, I would pull out the KSG.

Going to be a while before we do those. Holster is real stiff. So need some break in time.

I bought a Bond Cowbow Defender 45LC/410 about five years ago. It came with a nice leather holster. It looks like a tape measure on your belt.
After paterning it with the 45LC, 410 PDX, 410 RIFLED SLUGS and 410 BUCK SHOT at a 30"x30" pieces of cardboard i chose to use 410 BUCKSHOT for personal defence. I had a nylon ammo pouch made that carries five 45LC and five 410 shotgun shells for my extra ammo.

Check out speed strips or quick strips for carrying spare ammo.  Easy to throw in a coat or pants pocket.

I have three different holster set ups I rotate through depending on what I am doing.

I have a cross draw
Double shoulder holster with back up ammo carrier.
And the new SOB double holster.

I also use 410 slugs and pdx or 45 LC most the time.
Right now I have a 380 barrel on the Ranger ll.
