First pic is possibly the same deer? Moving out end of November 2018, moving back in late July 2019. Not sure if it's the same one but there's a resemblance. Also first time my cameras have snagged a badger. Not rare in the Pasayten according the bio folks with cameras in there, but a first for me. This camera is deep in the Pasayten, at about 7,600 feet just below a little pass. Trail is an old abandoned one - never snapped a pic of a person on it yet.

Cool Pics

Dang, that is a big cat. Remind me to carry some heft when I go up there. Cool pics.

Well I just posted a few of the more interesting ones. Cam snapped 2400 pics, 1200 of them had critters in the frame.
I got grouse, pine marten, coyote, black bear, deer , moose, badger, and snowshoe hares. There was one little group of deer that every day or so would go back and forth across the same pass. Also a mama bear and two cubs doing the same thing. This coming year I plan on having one cam high and one lower in the same drainage just for the heck of it.

WOuld love to see the marten pic if it turned out at all, moose too of course, but dont want to ask for too much.
I had a gigantic bull located up there but circumstances arose and I didnt make it back to him. He probably died of old age back there.

Very cool!! Do you take horses back in there? 1200 critter pics in a year, not bad at all.

Same deer for sure. Aside from antler shape, look at his right ear. Notched up the same.

Agreed, same buck. Thanks for sharing! Very cool to see him coming and going along the same path.

Most of the marten pics turned out a bit blurry. Second pic is from the same trail a couple years ago, on the ridgetop. It appears he was rubbing his hind end on this little bush.
The moose walked real close to the camera in the deep snow and not along the trail so all you can see is the lower 1/3 of the critter. I'm in the Pasayten quite a bit, and I see moose all the time in there. Here's a moose from a couple years ago that walked right through my campsite while I was eating breakfast. Not sure if I posted this or not already.

Nope, no horses, just backpacking. A lot of the trails I go on have been abandoned and no longer maintained so horses wouldn't work any ways!

Thanks for adding those. Marten are one of my favorites. I sent you a pm where I think your cam is, if not, that’s another good spot if you get back there.

Here's another pine marten pic, not a trailcam one though. I was sitting in this basin with my camera in hand and this marten goes bouncing along the creek. The tele pic is the marten on the slabby rocks in the middle right of the camp picture right before it disappeared in the brush. Most of the time I've seen them it's only for a fleeting moment.
