I almost live in my super rain forest boots. They're my everyday in the mud and rain of winter and heat of summer for work and i wear them quite a bit in the woods as well. About four years ago I sent a pair in for recrafting but got a phone call shortly after that the leather was in too poor condition for the recrafting process. I was not unsurprised by this so I went out the next day and bought a new pair of super rainforest.
A week or so later I get my pair of boots back from them with a coupon code for 25% off my next set! Awesome! I already bought my new pair so figure I'll hang onto it since I can't find an expiration.
This brings us to two weeks ago when my boots wear out and I need to get myself a new pair as once again four years of constant use has worn them out. I try to use the coupon but it goes through a third party site which has discontinued their partnership with danner. I called danner and explain to them where I'm at and fully expect them to tell me sorry but I'm out of luck. The gal I talked to says "our codes don't expire so I'll send you a new one, but out Black Friday sale is for 25% so can I send you a code for 40% instead?" Of course I agree and shortly get an email with the new code.
Upon further inspection I notice the code she sent me is for two pair of boots so I now have a new pair of super rainforest and trophy. I know everyone has their favorite boot brand and mine is danner. Always been able to get years of constant use and abuse from them and always felt like I was treated well. This further cements them in my mind. Thanks Danner.

Those rainforests are the most comfortable boot Ive worn. The stiching blew out on me quicker than I would expect but the comfort was great.

If it’s just the stitching then they can recraft them.

They did a great job with a old pair of mine.

This was 7 or 8 years back, looking at pictures online they were actually the rainforest 2 that I had. I shoulda gone the restitching route but unfortunately went with several tubes of shoe goo instead :o

WISH they made boots in my size..... :dunno:

I’ve been wearing my military issue Danners to every outdoor adventure I’ve been on. Had this pair since 2011. They aren’t suited for every scenario, but I just love them and can walk hundreds of miles in them without pause.
This is the first year I’ve considered buying their Alsea boot so I can have better water protection. I think I’m a Danner fan for life.

Are they still made in China?

Are they still made in China?
Some models are. Some are made in Vietnam. I read an article that said about 1/3 of their product line is made in USA. Mostly the more expensive models.

This is my thought as well.
They used to have a few models that run up to size 18, then it was down to 16, which is what I wear typically. Went to the factory in Portland a few years back, and they had a single pair of 16s on hand, in the discount rack, and told me they were no longer going to produce the extended sizes. :bash:
I still wear the pronghorns I bought back then, wish I could get the exact ones again, id buy 10 pairs. they quit making the short top pronghorns though.
I also still wear the danner quarrys for work. a pair lasts me about 3 years. Got a pair last year, and no one could tell me if they were in production or if I bought a leftover from someones inventory.

Glad you had a better experience than I did with Danner they lost me when they went to china. I used to love the old Danners and wore them all the time. I bought a brand new pair and they leaked the second time out and sure they replaced them and then by the time it was wet the next season they leaked first time in wet weather and I was told they werent under warranty anymore ... Danners loss, meindl and Kenetrek's gain! I havent worn a Danner for 8- 10 years now and would never again.

Most of them and I wouldn't buy any that are. I tried a pair of the quarry's once and they last about three months. The upper tier boots are made in Portland still and the mid tier stuff is made in China and finished in Portland. You can filter out on their website for the made in USA stuff. That's the only thing I'd buy.

I've a pair (size 10.5) I got 17 or 18 years ago. Rebuilt 2 years ago. Wished I hadn't, although I love the boots that never leaked, and the best traction I've tried. My feet grew in that time. :bash: Need a size bigger now.
