Nice cat
-
I needed some mink bait so I threw 2 colony traps in a ditch. 4 muskrats overnight. Man I wish they were still worth $12-$15!
-
Me too 3nails, me too
-
Skagitsteel was able to join me on the line yesterday for this cat.
-
And then picked up this old one eyed warrior today. 27 pounds 10 ounces.

To say I'm sold on the Koro rat trap would be an understatement!
-
Fast!

Did you cut the pan down on your Koro or leave it as is?

I left it as is. I'll keep using the cam on the trap until I'm sure of that.
-
Thst one eyed cat is a *censored*. I think id have been tempted to give him one get out of jail free pass.

I was considering that right up until he flipped me the middle claw. Unfortunately I did not get the video of that.

I'm not interested in trapping too many muskrats this year so I better not set the rat hotel I made too many times. Pretty effective set. 7 rats the other night in a new area.
-
Be thankful you still have Muskrats, I haven’t seen a Muskrat feed bed in Skagit County for 2 years.
That’s a nice catch.
-
Rat hotel!!! LOL

That blows my mind. Come on up and get some! More areas than I could ever cover.

Activity has increased dramatically since the freeze. Couple of nice ones will help with the cats also.
-
Nice!!
-
Beaver trapping has gotten stooooopid easy. Set 2 last night and had 2 50+ pounders in the morning. Put out 7 cat baits. Put out 3 or 4 more tomorrow.
-
Nice job!!
-
Made a set today on this guy.
-
He was getting fatter by the minute.
-
That’s a good looking cat !
-
Can't wait to see the pics when you get him.
-
I was checking an sd card looking at bobcat pics and came across this blacktail pic I'd forgotten about. Right on the edge of being a shooter but his beautiful cape would probably push him over the edge for me. Not trapping related but I know a couple of you would appreciate this buck.
-
That buck is 250 pounds plus so his rack is bigger than it looks.
-
Great buck thanks for sharing
-
Another door down today.
-
I keep setting that same bone out in front of the door.
-
Nice job congrats.
-
Nice cat!! Congrats!
-
I hang my beaver up high in the trees to keep them away from the coyotes. Looks like I've trained one to climb! Baits are about 3 miles apart. I'm assuming same coyote. First cameras date is off. Both pics are same day.
-
Awesome, Hmmm coyote tree sets. :)
-
cool pics!
-
Wow that’s amazing
-
5 different critters hitting this bait. No way I'm setting on this cat just to catch the possum.
-
I never wouldda believed that coyote. Quite a pic.

It's that time of the season where I'm beginning to burnout. More than any other outdoor activity, trapping is a grind. The line is heartless. It does not care about your job. It does not care if you are sick. It does not care about family or friends. It does not care if you are exhausted. It has to be ran. Fur has to be put up. My truck reeks. While running the line my mind is now on kokanee fishing. Brook trout. Gardening. My couch. Though I love the taste of fresh coffee bouncing in my mug while rumbling up logging roads I long to enjoy it on the patio with my bride warming up in the morning sun. Feels like forever since I've been able to do that. I'm tired of doing so much laundry the line creates. Tired of misplacing things because I'm too tired. The adrenaline still kicks in when setting a trap just perfectly but I now fear success more than failure. :chuckle: Yes, I believe it is time to pull the line, clean up and put everything away.
I'll miss it within a week.
-
I hear ya, to many late nights putting up fur. My ol lady is starting to think I like castor canidensis beaver more than.....well ya know
-
Or, like me, I realize I'll go broke slower if I quit burning diesel persueing fur that wont pay the cost of production.
That coyote is a great example for anyone interested in harvesting salable coyote fur.
Note the wooly tail. Then note the wooly areas on the top of both hips. This coyote is what we call broke. The fur is breaking, getting springy, rubbing, shedding. This coyote is past the point of being marketable.
Thanks for the posts 3nails
