Anybody know if you can convert the Christensen Arms Ridgeline to a detachable magazine?
-
I don't know for certain, just speculating here, but aren't the CA actions Rem 700 clones and share the same footprint? If that is true, just about any DM system should work, but like I said, I'm just speculating on that so maybe someone will know for sure.
-
I would email them, they sell a detachable magazine bottom on their accessory page.
-
Thanks for the feed back- just checking to se if anybody knew for sure on here. It is based on the 700 action, on their website I only saw it for the Mesa - I will contact them direct
-
They offer the detachable mag on there online store. Pretty sure you can convert it
-
Gonna call them tomorrow and get it ordered up if everything is a go
-
It looks like it is possibly m5 inlet pattern. If so your stock would need inlet to accept it.
Just a heads up there are much cheaper m5 aics bottom metals out there.

So ended up talking with Christensen a couple times about this - it ends up that they have the mag bottom metal on their website , but they don’t actually sell it. They said it was a mistake that needs to be corrected.
My rifle is currently at Benchmark Barrels for the conversion and should be finished next week. They are converting it to HS Precision bottom metal and mag

[/quote what’s that setting you back? If you don’t mind me asking

$400.00 for parts and labor
-
That’s not to bad.
-
I didn’t think so either - coulda went with cheaper parts, but the HS parts seemed solid!
Going to be much happier with it now
-
Tag, please show us the work when it is finished.
:)

I’m going to end up doing the same thing with mine. What caliber are you shooting. I currently have the 300 rum. I bought the side babble brake for it as well. Do most of my shooting from the prone position. No bench shooting. That radial brake blows shat everywhere.

Mine is a 300wsm - yours?

I have a few different rifles with HS Prec det mag systems and they all work and feed very well, I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

One thing I noticed after having the DBM installed on my 700 is it’s kind of a pain in the butt to carry it now. I used to hold the rifle one handed with my right hand right in front of the trigger guard. It was pretty balanced there and now with the mag box hanging out there, I have to move my hand forward and it’s not as well balanced there. Small thing. A buddy mentioned it to me and I didn’t think much of it beforehand. Not sure I’d do it again on a hunting rifle. For the record I had mine done at Benchmark too and they did a great job.

I’m only doing a 3 round mag - so it should still be pretty flush, the 5 rounds definitely hangs down further
-
Ya mine were 5 rounders.

Just got my CR Ridgeline back today from Benchmark- they did an amazing job and the rifle is way better imo!
