Title: Skagit Valley Chapter MDF Banquet

Location: CottonTree Inn and Convention Center, Mt Vernon, WA
Doors open at 4:30pm
Dinner at 6:30pm
Auction at 7:30pm

Who all is planning to attend? I know 50CalJim, Bearhunter, Hunting Cowboy, and I are going. Anyone else?

I'll be selling the medallions early in the night, then I will be an auction runner. Basically when someone wins an auction, I take them the paperwork to fill out etc. :hello:

Post by: Wea300mag on April 19, 2009, 01:42:55 PM: The banquet was great as usual even though auction and raffle donations were down a bit due to the economy. The following Hunt-WA members were there that I know of:

50CalJim
Hunting Cowboy
Bearhunter
Hogsniper
Shannon
jeepasaurusrex

Last year I was last in line for the feed trough and they ran out of prime rib :'(. The likes of Bearhunter and co. were getting double portions (my portion :P). That didn't happen this year, I was lined up early.

Volunteers were also down so I put my name on the list to help out next year.

Yea, there was plenty to go around this year. Pretty good dinner.

I had a good time running around with the auction stuff. A good amount of money was still raised for the foundation. That one family spent a ton. But they got a outdoor clock (key item) won the event rifle, youth guided hunting trip, and a few other items. It seemed like I was running to their table every few minutes. :chuckle:

50CalJim won a Pentax rifle scope and of course I won nothing again. :'(

Hunting Cowboy and his wife donated a nice painting that was raffled off. :tup:

I saw many of you guys from this site.....Wea300mag, Bearhunter, hogsniper, SuperDave, 50CalJim, Shannon and a few others who are on this site but I have forgett your site names.....I visited with most of you, but I still havent figured out who jeepasaurusrex is!

Cody Hodge, the auctioneer I discovered is a friend of my cousins in Quincy WA. I thought he did a great job!

I did enjoy seeing the picture of (CJ) and his Montana sheep in the Huntin'Fool Magazine Vol. 13 Issue 12 on pg 62, 63, and 64. Several of these magazines were left at each of our tables. I had (CJ) sign my issue but I had to clear the autograph signing with his agent and security team first though.

I also didn't win anything....again!

Security was tight!!! :chuckle: I didn't win anything either and for some reason that salad always give me a hangover the next day!!!! :chuckle: :chuckle: The crew always puts on a good show, look forward to it every year!! I probably bought my medallion from you jeepasaurusrex! Wish I would have bought a different one now!!! :'( See you next year!!
