I'm thinking of replacing the triggerin one of my model 700's. I was going to use a timmney but there's a lot of talk about triggertech, any opinions?
-
I have a couple Triggertech Primary triggers . IMHO they are just a step up from the Timney they replaced . If you want we could possibly meet up so you can compare them.
-
I say Triggertech

I put a Triggertech in my 700. Very nice and crisp set up.

I put a the timney Calvin elite in my 700, I’m really happy with it. I don’t like the other timney triggers.

IMO, nothing feels as good as a Jewell, but Jewell triggers don't like any kind of dirt and they aren't the most robust trigger out there so I had been using Timney Calvin Elite triggers. My most recent 6mm CM build has a Triggertech Special trigger in it. Haven't had it very long so I don't really have much time with it, but it feels pretty good so far.

Nothing wrong with the Timney. Compared to the stock rig it is a huge improvement

Jewell works well but gonna try the triggertech to how much better it is.
-
+1 for Timney
-
I like both Jewel and TT.

My Jewell is way better then my TT Primary . Not sure about the Special and Diamond line though
-
My jewell triggers are amazing. Never had a failure.
-
I have been very happy with the Jewell triggers and have recently been playing
with the Timney Calvin Elite and like it a lot but I am a bit biased. :chuckle:

The new TT Special I have is currently set a bit heavier than all my Jewell's or Timney CE triggers so I won't be able to give it a fair comparison until I lighten the pull on the TT. The TT Special I have has a nice clean feel to it though and I'd say it, so far, feels very much like my Timney CE triggers, but as I mentioned before, nothing compares to the feel of a Jewell. Who knows, maybe when I get the TT Special lightened up to the same as my Jewell's I'll feel differently though.

My favorite right now is the Calvin Elite, flat shoe. Amazing trigger.
-
Another good brand to check out is Bix'n Andy. Great triggers.
-
Just replaced my Jewell with Tt Diamond Pro Curve. Diamond I believe bit better for hunting - dirt resistant and safer with very light trigger. Also easier to adjust pull. In a blind test not sure I could tell the difference but like safety much better on Tt. Jewell had issues when in the field.
-
I just put a Timney elite hunter on my 700. Made a big difference and so far no issues. Install was a easy. Took 15 min or less.

I have a trigger Tech in my Christensen- nice crisp and light

I have installed jewell, Trigger Tech, Timney and Bix and Andy tac sport. My favorite is the Jewell it never failed me out in the field but I would not discount the Bix.for target shooting I really like my Calvin elite 2 stage very predictable I find I never feel like I have to call a bad shot due to trigger squeeze.
