There is a service this Friday at Tahoma National Cemetery at 10 AM.
One of this veterans friends lives back east, and is unable to attend. She is concerned that there will be no one there.
So, if anyone is available to honor this vet with their attendance, please try to be there.
My AL post 99 is scheduled for Honor Guard on this day, so I will be there.
Here is a copy of something he wrote her before he died:
A Day In My Life In Vietnam .
May 19th 1968 A Date That Will Live In Infamy In My Life .
I Survived The 1968 Tet Offensive And Then Had To Live In Another Living Hell.
Camp Evens , Republic Of Vietnam 1st Cavalry Division Base Camp The Camp Was Located To The West of Highway 1, Approximately 24 km / 25 Miles Northwest of Huế In Thừa Thiên–Huế Province . Flew Back After A Full Day Of Flying Combat Assault Mission And Re-Supply Mission’s , Was Preparing Our Aircraft For The Next Days Mission’s , And Was Hit By A Rocket Attack And Ground Assault By North Vietnamese Regulars And Viet-Cong . Just After The Assault Started A 188MM Rocket Hit The Ammo Dump . And For The Next 12 Hours We Lived In Hell . The Division Lost About 98% Of Their Aircraft And Many Wounded . Still To This Day I Have Nightmares And Will Until The Day I Die . A Man (Boy’s 18 To 25 Years Old) Has Many Trials In Our Lives And That Trial I Lived Through , But Many Of My Friends Never Saw Their Next Birthday In 1 (365 Day’s) Year Tour In Vietnam . My Prayers Go To The Ones I Lived With And Fought With That Did Not Come Home To Their Family’s .

Hopefully some folks can find the time to attend

I can't attend because of a heavy work day tomorrow. I've written to the WA Patriot Guard about the service. Hopefully they have some riders who will be available tomorrow. I'm an Army doggie medic, but Semper Fi and RIP Skip.

If I still lived over there, I would be there.
I went to a relative's service there.
RIP, sir, and thank you for your service.
