Nor should they.

My 2-1/2 year old wants me to take her to a park so she can play on the playground.  I keep trying to explain to her why we can't go...."Because our government closed the park because they want to prevent people from getting sick"  She doesn't seem to get it either......and honestly, i still don't think I get it either.

I'm thankful that I have access to a couple private ponds to fish for bass when the water warms up and all the other local lakes are still closed.  I heard that certain privately owned lakes are still open for residents.  That's great for them.  I feel for those who don't have any options to wet a line for over a month as the weather gets nice and fish get active.  That bathtub photo looks less like a joke and more like a good idea! haha.

Went out Tuna fishing with Mark Youngblood yesterday.  We got 8 fish and lost 4 that fell off the hook. We went out 55 miles. Mark and his deckhand Matt work hard, have good gear, and made it a fun trip. If the weather cooperates the fish should move in closer to shore later in August. Mark is a good guy to go with if you want to go after Tuna.

Was in Minnesota visiting my brother who lives on the Mississippi. I always have a rod rigged with a nightcrawler off the dock hanging on a plant hanger. I look down and the rod is gone. Walk down to the dock, and see the rod laying on the dock, and the reel has snapped off, and got caught up on a dock post. Grab the rod in one hand and the reel in the other, and there's a 15-ish pound carp on the other end. The neighbor kid and his dad are fishing off their dock, so they jump the fence to help out. One guy with a rod, one with a reel, and the boy with the net, and we land the big ole carp. The kid was thrilled! (but not quite ready to lay hands on a big slimy carp!)

 :chuckle: :chuckle:

We were fishing for them once using bread balls on a river in WI. We caught three. Back at the ramp, there was a boat tied to the dock with one or two carp on a stringer. We decided to give the guy a story and put our three carp on his stringer. We thought about hanging around to see his reaction, but had stuff we had to do.

I've had a good year with the Cabezon this year. Attached are pics of all keepers but one and my fishing buddy. The last one was 27 inches and 15.4 pounds with a pretty much empty stomach.

What prehistoric-looking  fish  :chuckle: I think I caught one of those in Newport Oregon once but didn't know what the heck it was  :chuckle:
It was out on the rocks on the shore one of the days we didn't go deep seas fishing while there. Ugly little thing threw it back, it was only about 3-5 inches long.
Dad caught a Salmon so did my friend.  :( :) not I, but we did catch a hella Bunch of sea Bass... Good eats... 80's FYI.
But in between the  :puke: party me and my friend was throwing in the head.  :chuckle: took Dramamine?? The next day and had a better time of it.

Got some social distancing in, had to get it out of the water for a second to cut my line off the hook, it was too deep to get out without risking killing him, thank god I got a 6’ handle on my net to maintain proper stupid distancing, best guess is approx 10lbs with a nice recovery and release of a strong healthy fish!
