Has anyone had success in the Iron Mountain area? Just wondering if it’s something worth taking some time to look at, have some buddy’s coming in from out of state, one hunting turkey for the first time ever, so want to show them a good time!

If you are asking about the Iron Mountains near the Little Pend then yes, I have had success there. Take a look, there are plenty of turkey you just have to find them.

Right at Blue Creek? Lots of birds in and around that whole area.

I've killed a few in the fall season in the NF, haven't been there in the spring. I imagine they would be there though!

Cool thanks guys. Last year I was further in off Sand Canyon Rd. Might look around Burnt Valley as well. Scouting with kids is borrowed time though lol.

Called one in there for my Commander last spring. Nice area.

The birds are thick in that whole area. That's been my hunting grounds for ten years. You are going to have to work for it but you can bag birds. Killed my spring gobbler last year in that area. I'll be hunting them again this year. Be ready to run and gun if needed, can be tough calling sometimes.
