So, well turkey hunting this weekend we stumbled upon this bear skeleton, we believe it might have been poached because there were full cattle skeletons and bait barrels in the area around the bear, it looked like the perfect spot to do a bait from if you were to do it!
Sorry, I do not know how to upload the pics, i texted them from my phone to my email, but I don't know how to get them from my email to here, so I will post the url:

did you call wdfw?
-
I will send the pics, no I didn't call, it looks to old to prove anything anyway..
-
Here are the pics, I figured it out:
-
whats with the plastic bag?
-
I dont know, Iit was there, already, with some hair in it. :dunno: :dunno:
-
Doesnt look like a very big bear, but definatly a lil fishy about this? Hope no one poached him :(
-
No, he wasn't very big, but I do think someone poached him... dang paochers. :mor:

sure its winter kill? maybe winter poach? maybe its those jerk-offs who poach them for there gal blader? I would send wdfw the pics or email them and let them know the location..the bag is kinda fishy ya know?
-
I know what you mean, it is a little fishy... I don't jnow what I am going to do about it yet, I knew I should have taken coordinates of it, but I know the general area. But really, what will the WDFW do about it?!
-
Fish and game will probably do a report and put it on file. Sometimes things like this can come in handy for them. Kinda like little pieces to a puzzle. They may have already know who poached the Bear but not know where the Bear is.
-
Is it just me but is there multiple spines there? his seems intact but there are more..... :dunno: I'd certainly report locale and send pics. Can do it via e-mail. If they are interested they will certainly contact you.
-
if there was bait barrels around, you need to call wdfw.
if they were not bait barrels are you sure someone didn't just dump a skeleton out there after they processed the meat? maybe they did the same with the cattle? i know if you go to the house where we hunt deer out on the back 40 you will find a pile of deer bones and cattle bones all mixed together. it's where we dump our bones for the yotes to feast on and where many cow bones have been dumped for the last umpteen years.

It was over a quater mile from the road, there were two barrels that looked like the bait barrels my dad used back when it used to be legal, and and then the cattle skeletons, it seemed like whoever put the stuff there wanted it succluded... don't know what to do about it, if I was still there, I would call it in, but I live 5 hours away, came home yesterday. :dunno:

Go to the WDFW site. Find the contact for law enforcement. Give them a detailed description of what you found and send the attached pics. Give them your contact information and tell them if they are interested in following up with it have them contact you. Then be prepared with a description of where it is at. Give them as much as you can.

Ok, I filed a report, hopefully something comes of it...
-
hopefully it will get you 10 bonus points. :)
-
Did you check for cameras? Could be someones bait pile for pics.
-

You would think that they would've kept the skull if that was the case.
-
not if they were not interested in the skull.... :dunno:
-
The taco wagon doesnt want the skull.
Also, as the snow melts back, other evidence may become exposed. Criminals lose the strangest things at crime scenes...like drivers licenses, receipts, car keys...
-
hell, fingerprints on the plastic bags last forever.

Got a response!
The warden said it was his bone yard, the bear died shortly aftter coming out of hibernation last year.
Well, thats a releif!
-
Well at leat you got a response back and it was all legit.
Unless it was the warden that is the crimimal like boss hogg on the dukes of hazard.... Naw just messing around good for you for doing the right thing..

That is a good point. I would forward that info to someone farther up the chain.
